Origin got 100k when ANZ was at that capacity AFL get better crowds than most of world sports comps not just in Oz. Who cares if they do two diff games one better live one better on TV pointless article you can continually recycle this every year

There are plenty of NRL fans who support the Swans and would of been at the game thats why, Manly and Panthers have small supporter bases and not central to SCG like Swans or Melb AFL teams are to MCG. Roosters managed 22k and they are 1 NRL side out of 9 in Sydney. Parra v Sharks will get 40k next week if Sharks win today

Holding the rest of the league back ??? i dont see Warriors, Storm, Raiders, Knights, Titans playing in front of 25k home crowds every week ? Its not too many teams that is the problem its the amatuerish way the NRL conducts its business such as Refs, Bunker, adminstration

People all over NSW trek to Origin, its the game you want to go to highest level game of any code…maybe ppl just dont want to go bad enough to put up with traffic, roads, parking, public transport…Biggest Sydney teams werent playing in Sydney. If Tiges, Eels, Dragons, Dogs or Bunnies were playing Roosters, Penrith or Eagles there would of been 35k

Comparing Melb AFL crowds and NRL crowds are like apples and oranges. AFL has always been a members based game for funding while NRL were mainly pokies leagues club funding. AFL in Melb is an enigma no other sport comp in the world gets crowds like that. Even if NYC had 6 NFL sides they wouldnt get those crowds, NRL is better watched on TV also getting around Sydney is horrendous bad traffic on Fri & Sat nights and parking plus public transport that is terrible to get to Allianz.
AFL always gets these big crowds they dont have Origin or tests so this is the biggest games to go too its a different mentality to Sydney, Roosters Broncs is actually a good crowd while Manly v Penrith is disappointing and should of got 30k atleast

Rugby in general needs to be thrown in the bin and start again, taking a leaf out of NZRU and NRL set-up from grassroots, jnr reps and pro teams.
To save the Wallabies, Clyne, Castle and Cheika must go
