All Blacks punish Cruden for night out
Hi Pat,
Although this is a rugby article this is the kind of comment I am more interested in, although the comments above allow me to indulge myself in varying sides of the argument. You obviously know your league. Who would you nominate as your best ever? I basically saw the Souths v Easts game as the decider between SBW and Burgess to decide the best ever. My Dad has been watching league since the 50’s so I used his input, as well as any footage I could get of Provan, Beetson and Reilly. I would rate Raper as a hybrid 5/8th-lock and therefore he didn’t qualify. My dad rated Beetson as the best ever because he stood up to the poms who regularly beat Australia in the 60’s and turned the tide. I rated Burgess as better because he has more breadth of skills and self-belief.
