I agree with there needing to be better streaming services for all matches. Now i don’t watch any shield matches because i am always at work, but i was just thinking, would you pay money to get a reliable stream? I had the cricket live app and i paid $20 to watch all the ODI’s and T20 matches. If there was an option to maybe pay and extra $5 or something to get access to Shield matches with guaranteed better streaming? I know there wouldn’t be a lot of people who would sign up for it, but maybe that’s something CA can look into. Then that way, they will be getting a little bit more revenue to spend on maintaining a quality stream and keeping everyone happy.

Sheffield Shield held back by Cricket Australia website

Hey Griffo,

I did think that they might wait for the new media deal to maybe implement something. To tell you the truth i didn’t even think of the FFA starting their own subscription paid service, but i’m sure they would have a contract somewhere stating that’s a big no-no from foxtel. But hey, we can dream can’t we?!

That’s the reason i cancelled my subscription this month, i cant justify it. I could only watch 1/2 a game this weekend (on fox) and to be paying $12.50 a week, it’s like i’m throwing away my money.

Yes i agree it should of already be done, i think they are missing out. With the amount of tablets and smart phones people use everyday, it’s the next step. Hopefully sooner, rather than later, as you said.

A-League needs its own 'On Demand' service to fully prosper in Australia

Hey Bondy,

Yes i agree with you that there probably isn’t enough games to warrant an subscription fee, but maybe if they could package it with the EPL (which hopefully would be On-Demand aswell) then it would be more lucrative for them.

Thanks for the info. I’ve always heard about sites like these but never have thought about using them. I might check them out and see how i go. I would love to keep watching the football this year. You just never know what is going to happen this year!

Thanks again!

Yes i agree with what you are saying. I also think Burns is past his prime, but maybe his experience could have helped on friday night. I totally agree with the youth policy. I can’t comment on the players you have listed like Brandon O’Neil as i’ve only seen a handful of Perth games recently, but being a Jets fan i know all about youth players getting a chance with GVE opting for youth and giving them a chance. Last year the jets struggled with a young side, but this year have gelled together and are a team that are going to be competitive all year.

Is Edwards on the way out at the Glory?

It’s a tricky situation over their at Perth at the moment. It will be interesting to see how it turns out.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Allister Edwards lose his job, even though he is in his first year of a three year contract.

If their is a player revolt and players are looking to transfer in the upcoming transfer window and they keep losing games, the only option is to find a new manager.

If Perth Glory were winning regularly and playing good football, i doubt the critics would be questioning Edwards use of his sons.

Jacob Burns has a right to be angry. If your the captain, the only reason you shouldn’t be on the field is if your injured. On Friday night against Melbourne, Perth had every chance to score an equalizer and maybe beat the Victory. This is where Jacob Burns could have come on the field, settled his team down, taken control of the midfield and try to get a win away from home.

Allister Edwards needs to take a good hard look at his selection policy and play the best players he has at his availability.

I agree with Australian Rules. I cannot see how that many teams could be incorporated in such a short amount of time. The only way for a new team to work is for them to be competitive and the fans will come. If you put 2 new teams in every couple of years, you would need to them to be very successful. Melbourne Storm are the perfect example. They were a successful team from the start, while a team from Adelaide struggled years ago and ultimately folded.

Take a look at the A-League. Western Sydney Wanderers are in their 2nd year and have the best supporters in the league only due to their wonderful first season. While Melbourne Heart, in their 4th season as a franchise have struggled only making the finals once but generally have been underwhelming and if they can’t start becoming successful soon, they may find themselves being evicted from the competition.

There has always been talk of teams already folding in recent years like Cronulla, Newcastle, Gold Coast. So to bring more teams in so quickly would be bad news for everyone. And even if you brought in a 2nd Brisbane team and one from Western Australia and they were like a Melbourne Storm and are successful, that just means that 2 other teams already in the NRL will suffer as they will be further down the table.

I am all for expansion, but in slow steps. Incorporate a new team in 2018, and give them a few years to build a fanbase and become successful before introducing new teams.

NRL expansion must happen now
