Love to follow all sports.

I am a huge boston celtics fan, thats the team i own the most merch for.

BUT i have been following the Sydney Kings for the last couple of years and have bought 4 or 5 jerseys, t shirts etc.

Supporting a local club which you can go to a game and get involved is far superior as you feel like you are apart of the club and community.

The atmosphere in the NBL is building and some of the crowds at Qudos Bank Arena were great

The NBL was so competitive this year, when you turn on a game both teams are going at each other for 40 minutes.

The downside to NBA and MLB is the season is so long that the schedule allows teams to make up their wins and losses later on, if a game gets away from them it turns into a dull affair and has less intensity.

Cricket and Basketball are my top sports and league which i grew up with i don’t even follow anymore.

Hey snobs, you’re killing Australian sport

I feel like you stole the words out of my brain!

I have had a man crush on Matty since that Adelaide night!!

Sat in the stands at the SCG for Day 1 for his 167 not out atstumps with the grin of a WAG on my face.

Haha!!

I love you, Matt Renshaw

NBL just going for it this year, cannot wait for it to start and to get to as many kings home games as possible.

Aussie hoops fans to get one game a week live on free-to-air TV

i think we need to just accept whatever is good for the game and let it run its course, if management decide that a team in Asia will work and are confident with its success then we roll with it.

the asian champions league for football shows us that travelling wont be an issue.

whatever makes the league a better and stronger sport i am on board with.

if the asian market allows for more profit and gets better TV deals and generates more money which can be relayed to all the teams and raise the cap allowing for better imports and marquee players. then lets jump on board and support it.

NBL Asia expansion is closer than we think

should he have been given the captaincy in the first place? All is well and good when you are killing it with the bat but maybe he lacks the tactic mind required?

Clarke was aggressive and seemed to know what he wanted and how to deliver it, whether it was fielding changes or bowling changes.

maybe Smith lacks that instinct?

Skipper Smith fails his first test in Sri Lanka

I am pretty sure ESPN have projected Boston as seed 2 in the East.

Given the coaching capabilities of Brad Stevens and the additions of brown through the draft (no guaranteed success) and Al Horford through Free Agency. They now have a few more reliable weapons. Brad Stevens will work out ways to push the Cavaliers and Warriors again this year just like they did last season in the regular season.

I am going with a Boston / Cleveland conference finals and LeBron to be pushed.

Also, the additions in New York means if they get it right they could be really strong, solid veteran big man Noah, and Porzingis going into his sophmore season. We seen what melo is capable of when the defense has other players to worry about (insert highlights of USA vs AUS yesterday). ROSE, PORZINGIS, NOAH, JENNINGS. LEE. I am seeing plenty of open jump shots for the Knicks this year if they move the ball.

cannot wait!

Size matters: Are the Jazz the biggest threat to the Warriors in the West?

johnno, maybe this is something we have to come to grips with if we want basketball to survive long term in Australia?

I am not too sure about the ins and outs of regional teams. And i certainly don’t want to see them go.

Seeing Townsville exit was a real shame.

however i see cairns as a good base for a basketball team as they don’t have another professional team up there. the NBL seems to be in position to make that a stronghold.

if they got rid of cairns where else would they put a team?

melbourne uniteds name suggests they arent going to put a second metro melbourne team into the comp.

Olympic success will see the NBL go Boom

mate, spot on.

i was 50/50 excited on the trade rumors of Westbrook going to my Boston Celtics and also worried.

i like that he stayed, FOR NOW it makes him loyal and the fans will back him. Kevin Durant is an out and out superstar, you could say his value is worth 4 + other players in a trade.

In real terms i believe that makes the thunder ONE more all star and ONE more very good role player from being a deep play off team.

i think he needs to be coached away from isolation basketball and into a team environment. He might benefit from a ball movement system like the spurs, just how Atlanta adopted the spurs ball in 2015.

i like Russ, he is real, he is genuine, there isn’t a facade put up to show the outside world someone who he isn’t.

It will be interesting to see how Donovan can piece this season together

An imperfect superstar: What the Westbrook extension means for OKC

perth and melbourne just announced more imports the last couple of days.

hoping the kings have some good imports lined up

Olympic success will see the NBL go Boom

5 days for me!

and i only started following cricket in 2008.

I am not a big fan of the short formats as they are mainly a run rate game. a test match is so much more than that.

i think the biggest issue at the moment is the wickets, they need to be competitive and provide something for batsmen and bowlers.

if they get that balance right, we will see test matches moving into the balance on the final day providing the skill of both teams is on par.

Should Test matches be shortened to four days?

i think we have to do our part as fans and appreciate the product that the NBL is.

It is never going to be the NBA.

But with good fan engagement and more media coverage the game will grow.

Like the A League not having the same quality of play on the pitch as the EPL or European leagues but growing each year.

Olympic success will see the NBL go Boom

well put swampy!

as long as he accepts his ability and his role, NY could well and truly flourish!

“Are you not entertained!?” – Gladiator

Seems like entertainment and money rule most decisions.

Last nights game was entertaining, but it was ridiculous to see how offside everyone was.

Scrap it in the regular season, or officiate it the same as the 80 minutes.

Golden point reopens the debate of extra time

wow!!!

good insight

Women in League Round is absolutely worth celebrating

i agree

commentators opinions can settle or rial up a fan.

like in last nights game, when everyone disagrees with the mead send off, but the pure fact of the matter was they called it a professional foul, and thats the end of the matter.

i don’t like hearing commentators harp on about something for 10 minutes after the fact as it feeds the fire to the disgruntled fans

Bail on the Bunker and double the touch judges

its all about money, the men generate the TV deals etc.

i would love to see the women play a 3 match series played before the mens Origin and have it prioritized over the under 20’s.

i think that would be a good start

Women in League Round is absolutely worth celebrating

I am a big fan of the bunkers technology, but camera angles will also skew the perception of forward passes. So that is always a tough one.

However, the extra two touch judges following the line of the ball the entire game means we shouldn’t miss any, and their vision isn’t skewed by a camera at half way on a tripod and various other cameras around the ground.

I guess there are a million different ways we could make the game better but not everyone will agree, and not everyone has the same idea of a product they want to see as the end result.

myself? i want it to be a fair game. I am not hell bent on wanting a faster game or a more high scoring game.

Bail on the Bunker and double the touch judges

It is going to be interesting to see how they orchestrate things in New York, both Melo and Rose need the ball in their hands, and like it in their hands.

Coming off a season playing 60 + games it will be interesting to see if he can push it to 70 + and really take the Knicks from the bottom of the east to the top.

I don’t know Derrick Rose, but from the outside looking in, he lacks the out and out determination that he had in his MVP season. Melo drifts in and out of games and also seems to lack the killer instinct.

Its going to be interesting to watch.

My Celtics have added All Star Al Horford and will bolster their position in the east around defense and team work. Losing only Sullinger and Turner.

After watching the last few games of the women’s test matches and the women’s state of origin, we need to see more of the on field product too.

The state of origin match was outstanding and really good to watch.

I have had the pleasure to referee a handful of women’s matches and they live and breathe the game in every tackle.

Women in League Round is absolutely worth celebrating

They changed the title of my article when published.

The bunker is here to stay for sure.

Having the bunker officials controlling their own screens and looking at angles before the live audience is perfect.

I think adding more eyes is great.

I guess the main thing is confidence. If fhe referees are forced to make a decision we might start to see the results of more eyes on the ball.

Maybe its implemented with the captains challenge as well?

Bail on the Bunker and double the touch judges

Bang on mate, so wrong but so right.

More on the wrong side if you ask me, when Thurston retires from the NRL is the opposition going to let him score and run on every play? Or are his team mates going to give him the ball every tackle in a set? No.

The whole charade that was that last game was stupid. Entertainingly stupid.

I even went to my brother and said come and watch this. (on the ESPN evening replay)

American sports are all for the occasion. And this occasion felt orchestrated. AS you stated. He did look like the old Kobe, hitting tough shots and taking the lakers to a win. Wrong and right.

For me, 73-9 is more historic.

A heartwarming farce: Kobe guns into the sunset

Football in my opinion is on the up and up in Australia, A-League is growing, general interest is growing and it has the potential to be massive. Bottom line is, that football isn’t the premier sport here, and we have our genuine prodigy athletes playing other codes etc.

Your right 6-0 does show our place in the game, and like you said they need to move on the ageing players. Unfortunately we are Australian and generally that means we can’t handle not being the best. (e.g swimming team fiasco)

We need to be better losers and appreciate results according to our stature in the game.

Socceroos fans must be realistic in wake of Osieck sacking

Good move by Furner, he needs to earn his spot by working hard, I think if he walks straight back into the team he will walk straight back into bad habits.
