Luckily the sky blue and white hoops are back for the 4 nations, as Alan Nicolea said above. The hoops seem to be copping a bit of criticism in these comments due to the fact that it resembles a club side. I’m pretty sure though that the hoops are meant to represent the flag of Argentina though, just like the Argentina soccer team that has the vertical stripes.

I agree as well that change in itself isn’t a bad thing, it’s how you change it. The current Wallabies jersey is certainly a fresh breath of air from the “spiderweb” design of 2008. Despite some debate regarding the exact “goldness” of the current jersey, it took something that wasn’t very popular, the spiderweb designs, and changed it for the better. I’m definitely not against change full stop, even if this article may make me seem like I am (I am in high school after all, not exactly old enough to be considered a staunch traditionalist).
However when you take something as iconic as the hoops of the Pumas as replace it with something that means little to the players and fans, then that’s probably going a bit too far. Especially when the decision lies in the hands of a large corporate body who are concerned solely with profit.
The gold piping of the Scotland jersey is a great example of a slight change to the design of the jersey while still staying true to the heritage of Scotland and not spitting in the face of tradition.
