Joe, a very good point regarding Nielsen. Ex-players who were mediocre at best should not be given coaching duties in cricket. If they were no good on the field, what good are they off it?
John Buchanan was an anomaly, because he had a star-studded lineup. A total clean out is what is required and unfortunately, the only way that is gonna happen is if we cop a drubbing in the Ashes, which I think will happen. Short term pain for long term gain.
Bring Tubby Taylor into the coaching fold
vee14, you are right, I forgot about the ultimate hard man, the general Beau Waters. Maybe because I didn’t take a punt on him in my dream team, that clouded my memory. I love Ashton Hams too, best name in the business!
Eagles need to shove Woosh out the door
Lazza, my article is more about the lack of passion and skills in the Eagles squad, rather than the debacle that is the AFL competition. The Eagles have gone seriously backwards this year and there is no excuse for it. I agree that the AFL will be in a terrible way in years to come, but what can you do as a fan? Absolutely nothing.
What has happened to Adelaide this year is somewhat more acceptable, because your team is tired and old. And Neil Craig should cop the blame for that too. I don’t expect premierships at the Eagles, but I am entitled to expect competitiveness on a regular basis and some consistency.

Mate, if I wrote Michael or Clarke instead of Pup, the article would have been too long. I was trying to be succinct.
You’re entitled to your opinion on this article or Ponting or Pup, just like everybody is, including me.

Pup not up to being captain of Australia
please all refer to an article i wrote before the series started entitled “the link between the aussie cricket team and the cranberries” (not my title choice, by the way). only hussey has made me eat my words, but we all know he shouldnt have been in the squad to begin with. and as his pathetic dismissal today has shown, his form shall also pass.
i make no suggestions as to who should come in, because for all intents and purposes, we are a drowned rat asking to be revived. but of course, noone will do something about the selectors, because they will not be made accountable for not blooding the necessary youth in series gone past. it makes me so angry, that i have only found solace in watching the astute english batsmen dispatch our bowling with glee!
