Agreed – Phipps had a brain f**t really didn’t he. I bet he’s totally embarrassed seeing it now. It’s kind of a petulant response to not having the game go his way. It did look funny – though bad form for a young man who is supposedly a role model. Would have liked to have caught the shoe – would have been an hilarious TradeMe advert ??
ARU alert: Has Michael Cheika gone rogue?
So we ALL know now that Hansen didn’t have a meeting with Poite – none, zero, zilch. Hansen met with Pepfyer (apologies for spelling?) after Pepfyer requested a meeting with him following the game played the previous week. Sad to see smoke screens surrounding the WBs, diverting energy away from what needs to happen to inject some passion and creativity back into a side that played the final at the RWC only 11 MONTHS AGO! Listening to Fitzy this morning on the radio he was slating the WBs (something he says he doesn’t enjoy doing) for their lack of ability to ace the basics………like at kick-off – the ball needs to go further than 10m; when you kick the ball out, it has to go out; and lineouts – you need to win your own……..simple basics that are failing. Liked hearing Beauden Barrett interviewed after Saturday’s 29-9 win, “when you earn the right to play, you play what is in front of you”……speaks volumes of the ABs ability to adapt quickly.

*sigh of relief* ……..hallelujah for some clarity of vision from HJ and BB. Cheika does not need the distraction of the off the ball issues such as the meeting with Poite and the alleged eye gouging incident by Franks. I have the utmost trust this will be examined and dealt with as it should be. In the meantime, Cheika needs to turn his ire and energy towards dismantling and rebuilding a Wallabies side with the same confidence, passion and creativity as his World Cup team of 2015. After all it’s only 11 months ago – not like a decade ago……? Gawd being a coach must be a —- of a job eh……you’re dammed if you do and dammed if you don’t. When the Wallabies are on top of their game, world rugby is so much healthier……..let’s hope and pray that the ‘patient’ is not on his last legs. Just heard Owen Franks has escaped any penalty over alleged eye gouging….not sure that will assuage Cheika or the fans. Please, Cheika don’t allow this to divert you from more pressing issues…. By the way excited to see Hodge debut for the WBs and likewise Lienert-Brown for the ABs.
