Christian Karambeu, world champion with France in 1998 – having played over 53 international matches for France – is on his way to Sydney. His playing career is something of a dream: having played in France, Spain, Italy and Greece.

Karambeu also has two European Champions League titles under his belt.

Many are touting him to take over 2008/2009 Greek Super League champions, Olympiakos next season.

However, club owner, Socratis Kokalis has struck a deal with Sydney Olympic FC President George Giannaros to have him take over the top job at Sydney Olympic FC for the rest of the 2010 NSW Premier League season.

All this before taking over the reigns at Olympiakos next season.

Christian is part of a scouting network for Arsenal, and many believe his time in Australia will be spent viewing Aussie talent, whilst providing reports back to the English Premier League side.

This will be his first managing role, provided an agreement can be reached when he arrives in Sydney on Friday morning.

Many will be waiting anxiously for the potential arrival of his wife. Slovakian model, Adriana Sklenaříková.

The Sydney Olympic fans will be waiting with much anticipation to see such a great man of the world game coaching at Belmore Sports Ground.

This potential move shows how ambitious the club is.

Karambeu may just be the card Olympic needs to improve on their positive steps forward off the park.

In light of this, Olympic players have not produced results; pressure is building around the club.

Round 12 of the NSW Premier League sees the Sutherland Sharks taking on Sydney Olympic FC at Seymour Shaw Reserve.

The Sharks are looking for three points from the visitors. Will Karambeu be in the stands? Only time will tell.
