A strong recent home record will give the Brisbane Lions confidence as they host St Kilda. We’ll have live scores from 7.40pm AEST.

The Lions have not lost at the Gabba since Round 7 against Collingwood. Admittedly, two of the three wins in that span were against GWS and Melbourne.

The other, though, was an impressive win against the West Coast Eagles. Their recent form in general has also been better than what it was in the first third of the season.

They are now 13th on the ladder with six wins and finals are not completely out of the question.

For the Saints, this game will be seen as a must-win. They are in the eight, but only just.

There are four other teams below them with the same number of wins, meaning a slip up would very much undo what they achieved by beating Essendon last week. The chasing pack will be hoping the Lions are a banana skin for St Kilda.

Importantly, a loss would mean the Saints and Lions would sit on the same number of wins.

Last week the Lions traveled to the SCG to take on Sydney and went down by 47 points, while St Kilda got up against Essendon in a convincing 71-point win.

For the Lions, Pearce Hanley continued his remarkable run of form to register 34 disposals in the loss.

Stephen Milne finished with five goals, and Nick Riewoldt four, while Nick Dal Santo led the game in disposals with 27.

Simon Black returns for the Lions while debutant Sam Dunell comes in for Jack Steven at St Kilda.
