Greater Western Sydney say they are yet to make Richmond young gun Dustin Martin an offer, after meeting him in Sydney on Thursday.

Martin and his manager Ralph Carr toured GWS’s facilities and met officials including Giants football manager Graeme Allan, chief executive David Matthews and list manager Stephen Silvagni.

“Dustin was up here today to visit his father,” Silvagni told the Nine Network’s AFL Footy Show.

“We took the opportunity to show him our facilities and have a bit of a chat to him.

“We thought we’d be neglectful not speaking to Dustin and his management.”

He said the Giants had not presented the 22-year with an offer.

Earlier, Richmond great Matthew Richardson accused Carr of giving his player poor advice.

Richardson said the difference in money Martin could make with GWS, wooden spooners this year, wouldn’t make it worth leaving a club who played finals and who had treated him well.

“Dustin, I think he’s getting poor advice from his manager, absolutely no doubt about that. I find it hard to believe myself personally,” Richardson told Melbourne’s 3AW.

“Because why would you want to leave a club where you’ve had a good year? You’ve just played in a final in front of 95,000 people; you played pretty well; probably nearly best on ground at halftime.

“I think the club’s supported Dustin pretty well over his four years so far.

“He’ll probably finish top three in the best and fairest and that will be his second top three.

“I wish he probably had a bit better think about it.”

The Tigers said earlier this week they were extremely disappointed that Martin, who they picked at No.3 in the 2009 draft, was considering other options.

Martin responded by saying he hadn’t quit the Tigers, but needed time to consider his future.
