FIFA ethics judge Joachim Eckert has set a target of the “end of October, beginning of November” to finish investigating the 2018 and 2022 World Cup bidding contests.

Eckert said at an ethics in sport conference at FIFA on Friday that “I understand it is urgent.”

The German judge is “very precisely” reading 430 pages of investigative reports from FIFA prosecutor Michael Garcia.

Garcia and his investigators quizzed FIFA voters and officials from the nine bidders, including Russia and Qatar.

Eckert says only four ethics committee members have seen the reports.

He says no one at FIFA has read them, and no one under investigation has “applied pressure” on him to reveal details.
