The NRL has appointed Shayne Hayne and Gerard Sutton as the referees for the 2014 NRL Grand Final.

Hayne will make his fourth appearance in a decider, while Sutton, who has been making strong moves up the NRL ranks this year, will make his final debut in this game. He has officiated in more than 300 NRL games, 10 Internationals and 14 Origins.

The two referees have been at the top of the list of referees all year. Along with Ben Cummins, they were two of the three referees used for the 2014 State of Origin series, with Hayne officiating in the first two games, and Sutton taking charge of the last with Cummins. Game 3 was also Sutton’s Origin debut.
