A player from the North Melbourne Football club is allegedly one of two men under police investigation following the robbery of a taxi driver in Adelaide.
The incident is alleged to have occurred on Sunday October 12, with the driver of the vehicle having money stolen but left uninjured.
South Australian Police are currently investigating the incident, but are yet to release information publicly.
North Melbourne released the following statement in the wake of the news breaking.
The North Melbourne Football Club can confirm that a member of its playing list is currently assisting South Australian Police in relation to an incident that is alleged to have occurred in South Australia earlier this month.
As this is a matter of ongoing police enquiry, no further comment will be made by the Club until it is in a position to do so.
The player remains unnamed in initial reports, with AFL.com citing legal reasons.
