Former Wallaby Luke Morahan hopes to be part of a Western Force revival after re-signing with the Perth-based franchise for the 2016 Super Rugby season.
Morahan was a rare shining light for the Force last season, scoring five tries as the team crashed to the wooden spoon.
The 25-year-old former Red joins Francois van Wyk, Marcel Brache, and Brynard Stander as other Force players who have re-signed in recent weeks.
The Force have never reached the Super finals, and aren’t expected to make much of an impact in 2016.
But Morahan has other ideas.
“I’m really excited about where the club’s heading and it made it a very easy decision to re-sign,” Morahan said.
“I’ve enjoyed my last two years here.
“We’ve got a great and very committed group of people here that are all working very hard towards a common goal.
“What we’ve been working on and how we’ve trained over the last two months already has me very excited about what we can do as a team next season.”
Morahan, who can play on the wing, fullback or in the centres, has fallen off the Test radar since making his sole Wallabies appearance in 2012.
Although he still has time on his side to add to his Wallabies tally, his immediate focus is on helping the Force recover from last season’s flop, when they managed just three wins from 16 games.
Morahan’s new one-year deal has the option of a second season.
He said the arrival of former Reds teammates Jono Lance and Ben Tapuai would give the Force vital firepower in the backline.
