A keen supporter of NRL, Cricket and Rugby union. I support the New Zealand Warriors and Waratahs respectively.

Pretty shocking and we deserved what we got. Same with Dragons didn’t make use of a good start. Lots of players in this team expecting others to come up with game winners. The ball can’t get left at all which shows how bad we are that side along with one of the slowest NRL wingers on that side too.

Des breaks his duck after epic final stand sees Titans pull off Anzac boilover to stun Warriors in Auckland

It was ruled a knock on then Titans challenged and got the penalty. How is it a professional foul? it was the same as any hand or foot in the play the ball. That is never a sin bin,

Des breaks his duck after epic final stand sees Titans pull off Anzac boilover to stun Warriors in Auckland

This is the most unhinged take I’ve seen on this issue

Topine vs Bulldogs an important case for NRL and players - wrestling punishment shouldn't be tolerated in a 'workplace'

Did you also email him how you came from a league school and something about 4 hit ups and a kick. How did super rugby round rate? glass houses etc

Rugby league needs a new name but what can you call it to stand out in football’s confusingly crowded landscape of codes?

Ooo you should use this comment again on the next rugby league World Cup story.

Rugby League World Cup breakout stars: The Lebanese DJ, Kumuls wrecking ball and next-gen Tonga half

Must say I do enjoy internationals but it seems that 1 out of every 2 are ruined by over officiating. For every all blacks France last year which was excellent you get a Ireland vs Italy. Both codes seem to shoot themselves in the foot in a way.
You make some weird comparisons that suggest that a game of rugby league somehow fits 120 minutes of uncontested play into 80 minutes, it’s a miracle a try is scored, while rugby has more ball in play and scrums only take a minute. Is this Peter Fitzsimmons?

'It trumps league': Why don’t the media give rugby union a fair go?

Nice work didn’t realise Wales played in navy blue. I thought we played Scotland

Did this Scottish prop get away with an eye gouge attempt on Michael Hooper?

2012 game one was in melbourne. Year before was two in qld and naturally 2014 was two in qld.
So between these four year you have six in qld and 5 in nsw. What point are you trying to make.

For the record I’m happy with Townsville it is a new stadium so should get a showcase event.

CONFIRMED: Townsville to host Origin 1

After all these years, if I’m still excited come game day every weekend then I guess it’s real love.

I’m not crying, you’re crying: The misery of being a New Zealand Warriors fan

Thanks so much Ben this article feels like a shared trauma we have. No matter what I’ll always be back next year with some sort of optimism and then only to have it snuffed. That manly game really deflated me but you’re right if we pull off a win next week then suddenly ‘our year’ will start ringing in my ears and give me undeserved optimism.

I’m not crying, you’re crying: The misery of being a New Zealand Warriors fan

Most roar articles with the tongue and cheek occasionally get a snigger but mainly a groan.

But this one is simply outstanding had me in stitches all the way through. Well done.

Daily Telegraph accidentally reveals NRL grand final winner before kick-off

Not a bad idea actually possibly the best idea

Why the Dally M Award is flawed

Oh right I thought it was a mix, I stand corrected. I still think over the years we’ve generally awarded to the best player/s.

Why the Dally M Award is flawed

Yes you’re right subjective is completely correct. I’d probably wouldn’t have former players as judges for games Involving their former clubs if there appears a conflict. I don’t think the system is too broken though Jack is a worthy winner this year, Cleary unlucky but hey he’s got a chance to get a ring this weekend I’m sure he’s not too concerned.

Why the Dally M Award is flawed

Agreed Baz I feel there hasn’t really been any howlers over the years for the winner. Cleary was arguably the best but Wighton was instrumental in Canberra’s season. I recall early in the season he was in fantastic form not surprised he picked up so much man of the match awards.
I agree with the author that we can’t align with newscorp it has to be an nrl thing. Newscorp have shown how untrustworthy they are leaking the results and I don’t like the idea Of their numpty journos determining 321’s.
Leave it to ex players coaches and referees.

Why the Dally M Award is flawed

I don’t think afb should cop that much more than he’s already got. At the end of the day you gotta let someone up after putting the foot down. So we are kind of agreed on that. You’re point might have merit with other players doing dissent, but at the end of the day Fonua Blake is the only one in control of his actions. If he doesn’t abuse the ref (the ref who didn’t make the call by the way) then he doesn’t get suspended. Just like if he chose not to beat up a woman years ago, he wouldn’t have been convicted for assault.

Addin Fonua-Blake's 'punishment' doesn't go far enough

Right….
I’m sorry you’re team was dudded on the weekend and the nrl and media is against you. I’m currently keeping away from you as we are doing this….whole verbal stash you started over the internet.
Putting a lot of words in my mouth there fella.. keep fighting the good fight, Fonua did nothing wrong.

Addin Fonua-Blake's 'punishment' doesn't go far enough

Um the news that said he abused the refs again in the tunnel but I guess they must be lying.

Did Oates and Reynolds use a slur against disabled people directed at the refs? Did they abuse them a second time in the tunnel after the match?

Addin Fonua-Blake's 'punishment' doesn't go far enough

Plus the use of the word ‘retard’ is no longer acceptable. As well as ‘spastic’

Addin Fonua-Blake's 'punishment' doesn't go far enough

Sorry waited for them in the tunnel, as if that makes a difference. Obviously not remorseful if he had time to cool down and then decided to fire another load of abuse towards the refs.
There is no need for whataboutism here, if there is I’ll raise you James graham who copped 4 for abusing Sutton without swearing or threatening the refs.

Addin Fonua-Blake's 'punishment' doesn't go far enough

Watch some of his highlights on YouTube, the man is quick. But also doesn’t take any crap.

Addin Fonua-Blake's 'punishment' doesn't go far enough

Plus the fact he followed the refs into the tunnel to get another spray in. That’s not heat of the moment or out of character, that is planned. Plus it’s not some passing words at a fellow player it’s abuse towards a match official. In any sport in the world this (should) be harshly dealt with.

Addin Fonua-Blake's 'punishment' doesn't go far enough

Fair enough, it’s still a good opportunity to send a message throughout all grades that any abuse to the ref will be harshly dealt with.

Addin Fonua-Blake's 'punishment' doesn't go far enough

One thing rugby does better is the way the referees control the game and any dissent is dealt with straight away. You’re right about numbers and colours being a better way to assert authority.
Love to have seen Nigel Owens deal with AFB.

Addin Fonua-Blake's 'punishment' doesn't go far enough

Because it’s just as ludicrous as saying afl is the main game in town in Sydney.

Why the NRL can't compete with the AFL in Sydney
