Ah fair enough reply away.

Why the NRL can't compete with the AFL in Sydney

‘is perceived to be indigenous and the lower socio economic demographic.’
Do you realise how elitist this sounds, what’s wrong with having a large indigenous following?

Why the NRL can't compete with the AFL in Sydney

I suppose you’ll be saying union is more popular than league in Brisbane next week. Can’t wait

Why the NRL can't compete with the AFL in Sydney

‘ If it were clickbait I would be replying with passion as I am.‘
So it’s click bait then or are you not replying with passion?

Why the NRL can't compete with the AFL in Sydney

As far as viewing figures in Sydney and nsw go it is. And it should be more teams more games. You got a very east Sydney centric view of this whole thing. Sydney is definitely more of a league town than afl. Maybe this changes in a decade but it’s not the case now.

Why the NRL can't compete with the AFL in Sydney

Your article at least had a little bit of substance and got some good discussion on rules and gameplay. This is possibly the worst one I’ve seen in recent times. Before I get snarked at I’ll just disclaim, yes the swans are and have been a big ticket in town for the last 15-20 years. Yes afl has a pretty decent presence in Sydney. Much more than league in Melbourne etc. but league is still talked about watched consumed in every other way simply with the long history and amount of clubs.
Sydney is so much more than just an scg gold membership.

Why the NRL can't compete with the AFL in Sydney

‘AFL are more passionate but better behaved than NRL ‘
What makes you think that? Well if throwing bananas at indigenous players and booing an indigenous legend into retirement is ‘better behaved’ then you’re absolutely right.

Why the NRL can't compete with the AFL in Sydney

Not according to his interview. Notice in this sentence “Ernie Dingo said he punched a white man, then changed his mind when it was revealed it was a disabled kid.” you leave out that Ernie was racially abused? It’s this sort of selective wording in which people demonise indigenous people.
A lot of comments on the Goodes saga feature him “abusing a little girl”, when the whole story was that he was racially abused by a voice in the crowd and he alerted security, then he sought out to make sure the girl was educated and not demonised.
Apparenlty thats child abuse to the Sam Newmans of the world. This is why I’m so happy he’s getting a mural in Sydney, it will annoy the right kinds of backwards people.

Do black lives really matter in the AFL?

‘ I reckon more people here in Australia could name a NFL team before a NFL team.‘
You’re right most people would name the New England patriots before the New England patriots.

The importance of morning rugby: Why the NRL needs to push UK advertising

There are a few but none as big as GWS and Bulldogs.

AFL fans have just one reason to be jealous of our NRL cousins

Interesting choices Mary.
You have seven of the last top 8 in and we know usually there are more changes than 1 so, the question is who is likely to lose ground.
I think (and I don’t want this to happen) the raiders might fall back a bit, still in finals but 7th or 8th.
I don’t see the knights playing finals over someone like the cowboys coming back into the fold. My top 8

1 Souths
2 roosters
3 manly
4 Melbourne
5 Brisbane
6 Parra
7 Canberra
8 Tigers (surely)

16 lots have tipped warriors which hopefully means we can continue disappoint and come a respectable 14th.

Predicting the 2020 NRL top eight

So this Vlandys who still
Runs another sport and has made pathetic excuses to operate a team out of Perth, is also wanting to scale back the digital platform? …and football folk thought gallop was bad.

An exhibition weekend with real meaning

Do you not have a shred of empathy?
The point or pointing out these inequalities is that a lot of them still exist today.
I’m not suggesting for a change in the anthem but like with Australia Day I can empathise with different people and understand why they feel the way they do.
Try it, you’ll be less angry. Otherwise feel free to boo indigenous players and see where that gets you.

Absence of the anthem at All Stars shows leadership by the NRL

Are you really telling aboriginal people they’re not Australian? Wow

The importance of the Indigenous All Stars

‘exaggerate to the extreme and then try to use it as a logical argument against. ‘
And you haven’t done the same hypotheticals ?
“Use your imagination to create your very own horror story.
Perhaps the story is of the 70-year-old pensioner who is looking up at the screen at the time and doesn’t see anything coming, including the ambulance.
Am I exaggerating things? I hope so, but I’m sure that these scenarios or something similar will happen.‘
No one else can argue only me…

Crowd catches are a disaster waiting to happen

My point is you said it?
And you just commented that you didn’t.
Are you trolling or have you been injured by these cricket balls?

Crowd catches are a disaster waiting to happen

You seem to be saying the same thing to everyone on this. Did you seriously not expect anyone to argue with you on this?
I’ll olay your advocate here, is there a risk of being hit by a ball at cricket? Yes
Is the risk that big? Judging by the lack of cases I’d say soooo small.
And you keep bringing up these hook shots, I’ve actually watched t20 despite what you say and they do slow down or at least have less torque by the time they make the fence.

Crowd catches are a disaster waiting to happen

‘Why aren’t nets provided at the fence line for cricket? Surely that’s not too much to ask.

Doesn’t the venue owner have a duty of care to provide as safe an environment as reasonably practicable? Having a net at the fence would be a reasonable and obvious safety precaution given the repeated evidence of the ball being hit directly at patrons.

The net may not be high enough to collect everything, but a high percentage of balls would be stopped.’

Your words

Crowd catches are a disaster waiting to happen

My contradicting argument is 50 plus metres always from the bat gives you a lot of reaction time and the ball is usually hit High so the speed and velocity is gradually reduced by the time it makes it to the stand. So thereby it’s almost an imaginary danger and one that doesn’t require a net or anything.
Cricket has survived much worse real headlines than anyone perceived by your super unlikely scenario.

Crowd catches are a disaster waiting to happen

Looking at all these articles I can imagine this guy being afraid to leave the house. There is practically no danger for spectators at the cricket, more danger getting there if you drive. A net would be annoying. Write a proper sports article rather than a list of imaginary fears.

Crowd catches are a disaster waiting to happen

My bad shouldn’t of generalised, I think it’s ridiculous how we are a slight chance after the season we’ve had.

The Sea Eagles' road trip from hell; ‘Baby’ Burton spears the Sharks

I honestly thought the penalty count was kind of warranted, the Blair sin bin was tough and I think his reputation hurt him there but oh well. I think it’s rich of manly fans to complain about the reffing when it was 100% manlys tactics, decision making plus the bounce of the ball that influenced the result.

The Sea Eagles' road trip from hell; ‘Baby’ Burton spears the Sharks

13-5 penalty count plus 57% of possession and a sin bin equals refs fault that manly lost.
