The Daily Telegraph is reporting Sydney FC goalkeeper Liam Reddy has been sent home from New Zealand for being drunk on the team flight to Wellington overnight.

The club flew to New Zealand ahead of Friday night’s crunch elimination final against Wellington.

Reddy is reported to have admitted to being drunk, with the furious club banishing him home, and suspending him for the A-League finals series. Reddy will also be charged with a breach notice under the A-League disciplinary procedure.

Reddy has been serving as deputy to Ivan Necevski, and was expected to start from the bench for the club.

More to come.
