How much will the Wallabies improve?

We would like to think the Wallabies will be a lot stronger this year than last. But in terms of personnel, we will be weaker, in my opinion, due to injuries.

Here is the last Test team that thrashed Wales:

15. Adam Ashley-Cooper
14. Peter Hynes
13. Digby Ioane
12. Quade Cooper
11. Drew Mitchell
10. Matt Giteau
9. Will Genia
8. Wycliff Palu
7. David Pocock
6. Rocky Elsom
5. Dean Mumm
4. James Horwill
3. Ben Alexander
2. Stephen Moore
1. Benn Robinson

16. Tatafu Polota-Nau
17. Matt Dunning
18. Mark Chisholm
19. George Smith
20. Luke Burgess
21. James O’Connor
22. Kurtley Beale

My ideal team would be quite, similar assuming no one is injured:

15. Adam Ashley-Cooper
14. Rod Davies (injured)
13. Digby Ioane
12. Matt Giteau
11. Drew Mitchell
10. Quade Cooper
9. Will Genia (injured, minor)
8. Wycliff Palu (injured)
7. David Pocock
6. Rocky Elsom
5. SAMO
4. James Horwill (injured)
3. Ben Alexander
2. Tatafu Polota-Nau (injured, minor)
1. Benn Robinson (injured, minor)

16. Stephen Moore (injured)
17. Laurie Weeks (injured, minor)
18. Dean Mumm
19. Matt Hodgson
20. Luke Burgess
21. James O’Connor
22. Rob Horne

So only two new players – Davies and Samo – in the starting lineup, with Cooper and Giteau swapping positions and Moore swapping with Polota-Nau.

Three new players on the bench. Look how many players are injured, marked in brackets.

Any expected improvement must come from the increased experience of the players, with the coaching to have an impact on the form of the players.
