Australia took a lead of 332 on the third day at Adelaide and despite squandering three wickets for next to nothing, they hold all the aces against India.

We’ll bring you the live scores and commentary of the action throughout the fourth day of the fourth Test match, with the match starting at 10.30am local, 11am ADST.

Eleven wickets fell on the third day at Adelaide despite the track being expected to be a docile, batting-friendly one. Yet, the remaining eight Indian wickets and the top three Australian batsmen were sent back by the end of play.

A lot of the Indian dismissals can be attributed to poor stroke-play borne out of the bowling’s pace-filled control of their lines and length.

For India, only Virat Kohli showed the gumption needed to get to a century, a script that continues from the WACA Test match.

Australia lost their top three yet again, including Shaun Marsh for a duck.

His dismissal was the talking point among fans and that not only because DRS would have probably ruled him not-out. 17 runs in six innings is virtually career-ending for a Test number three.

The heroes of the Sydney game and those from the first innings as well, Ricky Ponting and Michael Clarke, will resume battle tomorrow against R Ashwin and co.

Despite the poor start to the second innings, the home team is way ahead in the game – the lead of 382 already looking substantial against a sub-standard batting team this series and on a pitch that looks like cracking in the heat.

The home team will look to bat out a session and get around 120 runs or so before declaring. This should give them ample time to bowl the Indian batting out and more than ample runs to play with.

India will hope to get some early wickets. Not that it will help reduce their target or the batting time, but the weariness may not hit as hard when it will be their turn to bat.

Still I predict an early finish on the fifth day, giving some time for the cricket buffs to switch from their whites to the Big Bash colours.

We will bring you the coverage throughout the fourth day from the Adelaide Oval and hope to receive your opinions as the action unfolds.
