The Bulls and Reds will attempt to get their Super Rugby campaigns back on track when they clash at Loftus Versveld at 2.05 AEDT Sunday. Both teams are coming off defeats, with the Bulls losing to weeks ago to the Blues, and the Reds surrendering a 17-point lead in losing to the Sharks.
The Reds will have their backs against the wall from the get go, with being forced to field their fourth choice flyhalf, as well as being without Digby Ioane, arguably the best wing in the world, who starts to serve a five-week suspension for a spear tackle last weekend.
The tussle between Francois Hougaard and Will Genia is as mouthwatering as it gets. These two must be the two best scrumhalves on the planet, and it will be interesting to see who comes out on top.
The pack that is able to provide the better foundation and go forward ball will probably go a long way towards settling this particular duel.
The Bulls have said in the media this week that they plan to get into the faces of the Reds, and will try and dominate with the typical Bulls structured, conservative approach backed up by aggressive defence.
Morne Steyn will not have an offset with the boot like he did against the Blues in a hurry again.
The Reds will attempt to run at the Bulls at every opportunity, but will come up short. The Bulls to win convincingly by about 10 points.
