Reports of the end of Robbie Deans’ tenure with the Wallabies appear to be incorrect, with the Australian Rugby Union confirming Tuesday night that Deans remains as coach.

The Roar received reports that Deans, who is contracted by the ARU until the end 2013, would be leaving for a new role in New Zealand.

Speculation around Deans not seeing out his contract intensified on Tuesday following Saturday night’s Bledisloe Cup clash at Eden Park in which the Wallabies were hammered 22-0, the 14th time in 17 matches that Deans has overseen a Wallabies defeat at the hands of the All Blacks.

The ARU’s Media Manager, Matt McIlraith, contacted The Roar to categorically denied these reports, putting to bed rumours of Deans leaving before the end of the 2012 Rugby Championship.

The Wallabies next face the Springboks in Perth, on September 8th at Patersons Stadium.
