I can’t believe the naiveté and gullibility of the UK journalists over this Andrew Hore and Adam Thompson citings.

Before the All Blacks went away on tour, the hottest topics in New Zealand rugby were thug cheap shots on Richie McCaw going unpunished and why are Piri Weepu, Ali Williams, Adam Thompson, Andrew Hore and, to a lesser extent, Kevin Mealamu going on tour?

What has Hika Elliot done wrong? Isn’t Jarred Hoeata a better option to cover blindside and lock than Ali Williams and Adam Thompson?

If you put these points together, it’s not hard to see that cynical acts of thuggery by two expendable All Blacks at the end of their careers was orchestrated against weaker opposition where even with 14 men it’s likely they would have won.

Hore and Thompson were selected to take one for the team and to highlight the hypocrisy of the penalties handed down to Dean Grayling, Scott Higginbotham and the exoneration of Andy Powell in 2010 for the cheapest of all cheap shots.

Who cares how many weeks Andrew Hore gets, it may as well be six months as, at 35, he’s not playing international football in 2013.

He was never going to start against England, who have a converted outside centre playing at hooker and Hika Elliot or Dane Cole are much better options.

The All Blacks have laid a steaming brick at the doorstep of the IRB, who have to do something about it and make no mistake the team that will benefit the most from tougher sanctions for cheap shots off the ball will be the All Blacks.

I can’t believe the rugby journalists and the rugby public in the UK can’t see that this was a cynical, premeditated plan by All Blacks management.
