This Sunday, Robbie Deans will name his initial squad of 25 players to take on the British and Irish Lions. We think the collective mind of The Roar is pretty powerful. So it’s time to put together a Wallabies side, selected by you.

You are Robbie Deans. You have the power. Below is the form to fill out to select your Wallabies side to defeat the Lions.

The votes will be tallied and a Roar Wallabies side will be compiled and compared to the announced squad of 25. For bragging rights, we’ll call-out any Roarers who have selected the same team as Robbie Deans (leave your Roar name at the end of the form).

How do I get started?
Select a player at each position of the First XV. You have the option to pick one of the likely selections we’ve shortlisted, or you are free to nominate a bolter who should get the nod for this once in a lifetime series.

For the reserves bench you are free to put together the best group you believe can bolster the ranks in the second half as well as covering all the possible game and injury situations. Select seven reserves and the extra prop.

An important area for consideration is the forward pack.

The Lions are going to come here with a big unit and look to physically dominate the Wallabies pack – especially in the tight five.

Will you opt for a big pack to counter this threat or a more mobile group to try and win the game in other areas?

It has been speculated in the media that Deans wants to select James O’Connor at fly-half, where he’s relatively experienced.

This is despite the solid form of Quade Cooper for the Reds in Super Rugby. Who do you believe should get the nod?

Since David Pocock went down with injury early in the season the debate has raged as to who of Michael Hooper, Liam Gill or George Smith should play in the openside flanker role.

Every one of that trio brings different strengths to a position Australia prides itself on.

Will Israel Folau, the big Waratahs offseason signing, force his way into an early Wallabies jersey as decided by the fine rugby minds on this side?

How different will The Roar Wallabies side, chosen by consensus, be to the one Deans puts together?

Enjoy putting together your Wallabies team.
