NSW Waratahs captain Dave Dennis, inside centre Rob Horne, and Brumbies pair of Peter Kimlin and Scott Sio have been released from the Wallabies squad to take on the British and Irish Lions with their respective clubs.

Dennis and Horne will depart the Sunshine Coast training camp tonight to join up with the Waratahs ahead of Saturday night’s clash against the Lions at Allianz Stadium.

Kimlin and Sio will return to Canberra at the end of the camp tomorrow, to play for the Brumbies against the Lions remaining in the nation’s capital until following the Brumbies’ much-anticipated match against the Lions on Tuesday night.

All four players will return to the Wallabies squad after the tour matches.

It’s a boost to the respective state sides, while giving the players valuable experience ahead of the Wallabies clashes – and gives the quartet a chance to impress coach Robbie Deans.

Australian Sevens representatives Bernard Foley and Matt Lucas were last night released from their duties with the national side so they can also feature in Saturday night’s tour match.

The NSW Waratahs team to play the Lions will be announced tomorrow.
