When it comes to predictions for the 2014 AFL season, there is a lot of debate around a range of issues.

The Brownlow and Coleman Medals, the potential grand finalists along with who will improve and who will plunge to the bottom of the ladder.

Here are my predictions around some of these debates in 2014.

Brownlow Medal
With Richmond on the rise, I believe Trent Cotchin is the one to win the Brownlow.

Patrick Dangerfield, Gary Ablett and Joel Selwood are also competitors for the title.

Coleman Medal
The Giants will have a number of players return from injury and they also have a whole range of new star recruits.

The Giants midfield has now got the ability to deliver the ball down to the forward line. This means that young gun Jeremy Cameron has the potential to take out the Coleman.

As well as Cameron, Collingwood’s Travis Cloke also is a possibility of picking up the Coleman if he can get his kicking correct and accurate.

It’s a tough decision, but I believe that Cloke will be the one bringing home the Coleman Medal for 2014.

Most Improved
North Melbourne’s Shaun Atley has definitely improved over the years, and still is.

I believe that this young gun from the Roo’s is one to watch.

Grand Final Winners
It’s hard to decide who this year’s winners will be; it would probably be out of Hawthorn, Sydney and Fremantle.

With Hawthorn’s past experience and good form, they would have to be the ones to win. I reckon they’ll go back to back this year.

Ladder
1. Hawthorn
2. Sydney
3. Geelong
4. Fremantle
5. Richmond
6. Collingwood
7. North Melbourne
8. Essendon
9. Carlton
10. Port Adelaide
11. West Coast Eagles
12. Adelaide Crows
13. Gold Coast Suns
14. St Kilda
15. Western Bulldogs
16. Brisbane Lions
17. GWS Giants
18. Melbourne

So overall the season will be very interesting with lots of ups and downs.
