Cameron Smith will be a one-club player for Melbourne in the NRL, the hooker agreeing to terms on a four-year contract extension with the Storm.

The Storm, Queensland State of Origin and Australian captain had been linked with a big money move to the Brisbane Broncos but has opted to play out his career with the Victorian club.

The new deal will keep Smith in Melbourne until the end of the 2018 NRL season, at which stage he will be 35 years-old.

He is set to surpass Matt Geyer (262 games) as the most capped Storm player when his side play Penrith at AAMI Park on Saturday.

Smith will discuss his decision to stay in Melbourne at a media conference at AAMI Park with coach Craig Bellamy later on Tuesday.
