Match Result

It wasn’t the prettiest of games and with a few minutes left on the clock Ebersohn looked to have sealed the game with a massive 60m penalty.

But it wasn’t to be with Coleman giving away a penalty in the last minute which was converted by Pollard to steal a last gasp victory for the Bulls.

It was a sloppy affair and it was error riddled, the Force gave a great account of themselves and the Bulls will be deeply disappointed with themselves, especially considering at one stage the Force went down to 13 men!

In the end it’s the Bulls escaping with a 25-24 victory.

Match Preview

The Bulls return off the bye to tackle the Force with the Australian side travelling to South Africa to take on one of the form Super Rugby sides. Join us for live scores and commentary from 1:55am (AEST).

The Force need to up their tackling efficiency in this game, they are currently the worst side tackling-wise, completing just 83 per cent of their tackles this year. They are also averaging the lowest amount of clean breaks.

The Bulls appeared to find their mojo before the bye, with a number of their players hitting some great form. Jesse Kriel in particular was superb.

Handre Pollard is currently battling it out with Patrick Lambie for the Springboks number 10 jersey and they sit one and two in the point scoring with Pollard second. However he does average the most points per game with 18.

In his last game Pollard also joined an elite list of players to have scored a try, a conversion, penalty and drop goal in the same game. Only one of the nine of the list has done it twice (Quade Cooper in 2011 and 2013).

This game will come down to whether the Force can keep up with the Bulls scoring, which is equal best (with the Brumbies) in the competition at 28 points per game.

The Australian side also faces a mountain task of being the first Australian side in 15 games to defeat the Bulls at home. The last time the Bulls lost to an Australian side during the regular season was in 2007, but it was to the Force.

One man who could get the Force rolling is Tongan International Steve Mafi. The big unit is in close to career-best form and has been a driving force for the team in attack.

After seeing the Force play last week they should look to hold onto the ball rather than give up possession.
