MATCH RESULT

FULL TIME: Perth Glory 1 – 0 Melbourne Victory

It was a result nobody was expecting, but Perth Glory managed to get the job done as they go on to win their third game of the season, of their second in a row.

After a lacklustre first half, Kenny Lowe thought it would be necessary to bring Castro on for his side in the second, and the move paid dividends.

Castro caused problems the entire team he was on the pitch, and was rewarded with a goal after a great pass from Reiners.

Besart Berisha will be kicking himself after he hit the crossbar with an effort that he would have scored any other day.

Melbourne Victory have now lost three games in a row, and they will need to recuperate before they take part in the Melbourne derby.

The final score in Perth, Perth Glory 1, Melbourne Victory 0.

MATCH PREVIEW

Perth Glory are searching for their third win of the 2015-16 A-League season when they host Melbourne Victory. Join The Roar from 9pm (AEDT) for live scores and commentary.

Perth and Melbourne were originally set to meet in Round 5, however the match was rescheduled due to the two sides facing off in the FFA Cup final.

After a disappointing start to the season, Perth finally managed to secure their second win of the season with a hard-fought 2-1 win over the Central Coast Mariners.

Nebosja Marinkovic scored twice in two minutes as the Glory came back in the second half to get out of last place on the A-League table.

Set to play their third game in 12 days, Victory’s fatigue has been showing on the pitch, and they will need to re-energise if they want to win away from home.

Victory have lost their past two fixtures, their last being a 2-nil loss against Western Sydney, where the Wanderers scored two second-half goals to put the defending champions away.

Danny Vukovic felt responsible after a mediocre showing against the Wanderers, and the experienced keeper will be eager to prove he deserves to be the main man between the sticks.

The last time these two sides locked horns was last month in the FFA Cup final, when Oliver Bozanic and Besart Berisha both found the net in the first half as the Victory cruised to a 2-nil win.

Prediction
If the Glory can cut off the delivery to Berisha, they can get the win. Otherwise, signs point towards another Melbourne win over Perth.

Perth Glory 0 – 2 Melbourne Victory
