WATCH: The post-goal snub that has reignited rumours of friction between Swan and teammates

It is blast off to a normal AFL season after two years, and the excitement is overwhelming to say the least for fans relegated to armchair followers during this period.
Much like the NFL in the US, the AFL is Australia’s biggest drawcard in sport by far.
And as much as this sounds like an understatement, the AFL’s long-suffering fans will no doubt be gearing themselves to be in the thick of things while throwing their support behind their beloved teams.
Not in my memory of this grand old game has there been so much anticipation of the season ahead, and by the looks of things, it will not be an easily predictable season.
Last year’s grand finalists Melbourne and the Western Bulldogs appear to be the only certainties to make finals this year.
The rest could well be a raffle for the remaining six spots of finals footy.
My other front runners for the finals are Port Adelaide, GWS, Sydney, Essendon, Brisbane and Richmond or Fremantle, and they will be challenged by Carlton and St Kilda.
I just cannot see a spark in Hawthorn, North Melbourne, Collingwood and West Coast, whose pre-season looked ordinary.
It’s early days yet, but there’s no doubt that this season will generate massive crowds to the footy as fans swarm venues to spur their teams on.
Bring on AFL 2022.
