Outrageous from the Broncos skipper on 'a wooden leg!'
The Brisbane Broncos travel to the nation’s capital for their clash with the Canberra Raiders on Monday night to close out Round 13.
The two sides met last year in Round 13’s corresponding match, with the Raiders proving too strong at home finishing 30 to 18 victors.
The Raiders continued their horror 2014 run with a loss to the Roosters last weekend, seeing the side sit in the bottom three of the competition.
Ricky Stuart’s failed recruitment drive, which has seen a number of marquee targets either reneging on deals or snubbing the club’s advances, have added further misery to Canberra’s 2014 campaign.
Contrast that to the Broncos who will enter the match full of confidence on the back of three straight wins, including last weekend’s strong 36 to 10 victory over the Sea Eagles.
A big factor in the Broncos surprising success this season can be attributed to halfback Ben Hunt, who has been revelation in the number 7 jersey this year.
His strong performances for the club came at vital time for them, after they were dealt a blow to their halfback stocks with the loss of Peter Wallace.
For the Raiders, their defence will be key on Monday night as they’ve conceded a league high 322 points this season.
If they can’t find a way to fix their defensive woes this week, expect to see a Broncos side run rampant down in Canberra.
