Louis Van Gaal and co will be looking to make amends after last week’s horrible start to the season when they travel to the Stadium of Light on Monday morning.

Manchester United suffered a shock 2-1 opening round defeat at the hand of Swansea last start in front of their home crowd at Old Trafford.

Sunderland scored a late equaliser against West Brom in their opening fixture to get their season off to a satisfactory start.

The men in red and white stripes look like a quite decent team this season after they made several signings over the summer.

They have no injury worries and will be a tough unit for Manchester United – after last week, it feels hard to write off Sunderland as potentially causing an upset.

Manchester United look set to welcome become their talismanic striker Robin Van Persie, while Marouane Fellaini is sidelined with a ligament injury.

United’s newest signing, Marcos Rojo could make an appearance on the bench this week, while Luke Shaw will definitely miss Sunday’s match with a hamstring injury.

Jonny Evans, Antonio Valencia and Danny Welbeck still remain doubtful.

The only query for Sunderland is Emanuele Giaccherini, who is in doubt with injury.

Prediction:
I am not confident with United just yet, Sunderland may prove to be a tricky away fixture, especially this early on.
