'Diabolical lack of discipline': Leigh Matthews gives Jamie Cripps both barrels for brain snap
As teammate Jake Waterman was lining up for goal, Cripps gave away a free kick by pushing an Essendon player as the Eagles lost…
Just when you thought West Coast‘s run with injuries couldn’t get any worse, the club is potentially staring down the biggest setback of all.
Star forward Josh Kennedy hyper-extended his right elbow during Saturday’s 87-point crushing of Greater Western Sydney and underwent scans on Monday.
There have been reports Kennedy sustained critical soft tissue damage to ligaments and tendons that requires surgery either now, or at seasons end.
It’s understood however that should he opt to delay surgery till after September, the Coleman Medal leader (22 goals) could potentially complicate the injury further, and potentially threaten his career.
This all comes at the worst possible time for the West Australian club as the team have been battling bravely with an injury ravaged list.
Key defenders Eric Mackenzie and Mitch Brown are out for the season with ACL injuries while Kennedy’s partner in crime Jack Darling is still 4-5 weeks away from competitive football with a stress reaction in his right foot.
There was mass confusion today on social media with conflicting reports over the state of Kennedy’s injury.
