The Wests Tigers have launched an investigation after halfback Luke Brooks was caught up in a brawl in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Brooks was questioned by police but not charged after an altercation on Darling Street in Balmain.
Three men were arrested but later released and police said they were investigating the incident.
“Emergency services were called to Darling Street about 12.30am (Sunday 14 May 2017), following reports of a brawl,” police said in a statement.
“Officers arrived and the groups were separated.
“Two men suffered minor facial injuries during the incident but did not require medical treatment.
“While police were making inquiries, another man arrived at the scene and became involved in a verbal argument with some of those involved in the earlier brawl.
“The 26-year-old man was arrested for breach of the peace and taken to Balmain Police Station, but he was later released.”
Grainy footage has emerged of two groups involved in an altercation and the club said they were looking into it.
“Wests Tigers have been made aware of an incident involving a player on Saturday night in Balmain,” the club said.
“Wests Tigers have been working with the NRL Integrity Unit on the matter.”
The Tigers halfback was involved in their humiliating 28-8 loss to South Sydney at ANZ Stadium on Friday night.
Brooks last month re-signed with the joint-venture club on a two-year deal until the end of 2019.
