England and Bangladesh are set to face off today in Cardiff. Join The Roar for live scores and a blog of the match, starting from 7:30pm (AEST).

The English are coming off a loss to Pakistan at Trent Bridge, but they can consider themselves a tad unfortunate.

Pakistan are one of those sides that when they put it all together, they look like the best side on the planet.

They set England a total of 349 runs to win the game, and Eoin Morgan’s side very nearly pulled it off.

The fact England conceded a total of 8-348 does suggest it was not a good day for the bowlers, but the batsmen propelled England towards 9-334.

Joe Root and Jos Buttler both smacked up tons, but it proved not to be enough, which does show how well Pakistan played.

After two games, England have secured the one victory, and will be looking to make it two against Bangladesh.

As for Bangladesh, they are coming off a disappointing loss to New Zealand.

They set the Kiwis a total of 245 to chase at The Oval. Shakib Al Hasan was the only player to get above fifty for Bangladesh, as he finished with 64 runs next to his name.

Despite setting a low total for New Zealand to chase, Bangladesh nearly pulled off an unlikely victory.

The Kiwis finished 8-248, as Mehedi Hasan, Mohammad Saifuddin, Mosaddek Hossain and Al Hasan all finished with two wickets each.

A slightly higher score and the story could have been completely different, but they should take confidence from the fact they challenged a solid outfit in New Zealand.

Bangladesh have also secured one victory from their opening two games, and will be looking to build on that against the hosts.

Prediction
Bangladesh have no doubt been competitive in the early parts of the World Cup, but England are the favourites to win the tournament for a reason.

England to prevail.
