This is the good, the bad and the ugly from an action-packed weekend of Premier League action.
Liverpool
The only team with a 100% record overcame an early scare to defeat Newcastle 3-1 at Anfield. A shaky start by the Reds saw them concede after seven minutes to a wonder strike by Jetro Willems but an unfortunate injury to Divock Origi turned the game on its head.
The introduction of Roberto Firmino off the bench was the catalyst for a vintage Liverpool performance as Roberto Firmino once again proved that he is invaluable to this Liverpool side and if they are to win the league then he will be a large part of that success.
Chelsea
There is a certain warmth about watching Chelsea this season. Whether it’s Chelsea and England legend Frank Lampard taking the reins or the integration of their youth academy into the team, it has been thrilling to watch them so far.
All of Chelsea’s goals in the league have been scored by Englishmen aged 21 or younger – seven to Tammy Abraham, three to Mason Mount and now Fikayo Tomori.
The transfer ban imposed on Chelsea has allowed the youngsters a chance to impress and with the likes of Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ruben Loftus-Cheek to come back into the fold, this could be a fruitful season for the boys from Stamford Bridge.
Norwich
The Canaries suffered a lengthy injury toll that was evidenced by having two keepers on the bench just to make up the numbers and they still pulled off a victory over Manchester City. It’s the stuff dreams are made of and Daniel Farke masterminded a victory that will live long in the memory.

They weren’t overawed or intimidated by the calibre of their opponents and suffocated City with a high press, which in turn forced uncharacteristic mistakes from the City defence.
This result could be the launchpad for Norwich to defy the pre-season odds and be more than just relegation material. For now, though, there are a lot of people on the Norwich and Teemu Pukki bandwagon.
Manchester City
In short, the result and performance were a disaster but the most pressing concern is their lack of depth at centre back after Aymeric Laporte went down with a knee injury. Nicolás Otamendi and John Stones looked like they had never played together and it’s unforgivable for a team with the resources of City to leave themselves so exposed.
Five points behind Liverpool already looks like an uphill battle and if City are to win the league again then they need to make sorting out their centre backs a priority.
Arsenal
Two-nil up only to end up drawing 2-2 against Watford is two points lost on paper but anybody watching the game would likely see it as a point gained by full time. Watford could have quite easily walked away with all three points such was the performance of Arsenal’s defence.
No team in the Premier League has the propensity to implode quite like Arsenal and you feel with every attack that heads their way they are likely to concede.
Arsenal have a Premier League attack with a League One defence right now and that’s not a healthy balance. Unai Emery has his work cut out to restore balance to this squad.
