Just so many horses that have solid Randwick mile statistics in the Doncaster, however, poor barrier draw and lack of Group 1 success narrows the field.

Zougotcha for me each way and a standout in trifecta and first fours. Coupling with Mr Brightside, Nugget, Communist and Hope in your Heart.

Having a crack at Mazu in the TJ, only a length off Giga Kick last Spring where his runs were a fortnight apart. Back to 3 week break from his 1st up run which proved successful last Autumn campaign. Hopefully barrier 1 is advantageous and is able to get out in the home straight.

Happy punting.

2023 The Championships Day 1: Group 1 tips and previews

He had two possessions inside the 50 metre arc all game. Cannot kick a distance of 45 metres from over the mark.

The Fyfe conundrum and the future for Fremantle’s greatest ever talent

Here is Fyfe’s heat map.

Heat Map

Obviously you watched the game and was unable to comprehend that the Freo forwards played high. Against Saints Fyfe was just too slow when the ball hit the ground in marking contests, got run down twice, and had hands on hips during second quarter. No influence in the game at all and never looked dangerous.

Big turn around required from the coaching staff for the move of Fyfe to the forward line to be a positive transition.

The Fyfe conundrum and the future for Fremantle’s greatest ever talent

Only 79% TOG for Fyfe as permanent forward with Wilkie playing 97% game time with 24 possessions and 9 of those contested. Only 2 of Fyfe’s 9 possessions were inside 50 arc. Wilkie just worked him over as Fyfe had no influence inside/outside of 50. He did take 7 marks, however, disposal was poor. Doubt whether Fyfe is 100%.

Bit hard to be a rebound defender at Freo when you are averaging only 23 metres per kick/metres gained for seven (7) defenders. Above stats include winger Clark who gathered the majority of his kicks in the 50 metre back arc with 15 metres gained per kick!

The Fyfe conundrum and the future for Fremantle’s greatest ever talent

Also have to take into consideration durability and longevity.
Pendles has managed to play 20 games or more a season 13/16 with 16/16 for 15+ games played same excluding his debut year. I doubt whether we have seen a more accomplished AFL player with ball in hand in traffic who is able to finish and advantage his side more often. Would have to be pushing Buckley as Collingwood’s best midfielder of all-time with a premiership to boot.

Brisbane’s position justified, currently in a bit of trouble with their midfield structure. Dunkley & Neale both extractors who had no influence as link players. No field marks for both and Ashcroft as well. Dunkley’s role was pure at coal face with 29 metres gained for the game, and with one score involvement from he & Neale. Bit of work in progress if this game was just an outlier?

AFL Round 1 Power Rankings: Hot Pies, Carlton cold, Crows cooked, Port hits the spot

Great excitement player, however, got the impression that permanent retirement his on the cards?

Six Points: Kozzie's bump deserved a month off, draws are awesome, and the Pies are officially likeable
