Well you do know we have an ‘immortal’ who was busted for using drugs during his playing career & was found trashed in an airport toilet yet was named an “Immortal”…….granted he didn’t deal but Mullen has done his time & good luck to him……pity the immortal didn’t do his time!

Barry…..Can’t see how Des Hasler was a ‘journeyman’ during his playing career? He played for 3 Australian Clubs & 1 UK club….318 games total of which 257 were for Manly.

Barry don’t think the Storm will go back to back, however will give it a good shake. Knights squad very much overrated & won’t make the 8. One of Eels / Tigers will scrape into 8th spot maybe. Titans / Sea Eagles will improve. Panthers will again be strong.

I think the Knights would be better off without Pearce. To be honest I think he’s overrated & there are better players waiting in the wings for the opportunity to guide the team around. The Knights will struggle to make the top 8 let alone top 4………with or without Pearce.

I find it difficult to read stories on how Gallen is this & Gallen is that in the boxing ring & how he can take a punch……credit to his toughness, however i’d love to see him fight Mike Tyson or a similar type & see if he was able to stay on his feet. Maybe he can take a punch, but one rocket from Tyson would send him to Disneyland whether his jaw is made of granite or not. Gallen has not fought a single fighter of note. Maybe these guys were reasonable back in the day but you cannot call any of the fighters he’s faced lately a real threat. Most have been old, overweight & unfit……a properly conditioned heavyweight fighter, whether amateur or pro would wouldn’t raise a sweat against Gallen.

Like I said Gallen hasn’t beaten any boxers of note. Even though he’s in the early stages of his career he’s not a spring chicken & will only get slower. As I said he’s OK for an amateur but to step up against a real boxer he would not last a second. There are boxers in this world that even at 40 plus would destroy Gallen in an instant. I’m not bagging the guy but when I read & listened to the story of how he’d like to fight Mike Tyson & his thoughts that he’d do OK just made me roll my eyes & laugh. I laugh every time people suggest he’s a good boxer. Sorry but compared to fighters / boxers in the same category as he is that would demolish him Gallen is a nobody.

He was a good footballer but until Gallen fights a real boxer his record means nothing. Mike Tyson at 54 would destroy Gallen within the first few seconds. In fact any real boxer would make Gallen look like the amateur he is & yes his jaw would be glass…….

Joe….agree with you re Vossy! I don’t listen to CH9 during the season apart from S.O.O reluctantly. How anyone can sit there & listen to the bland & boring commentary on CH9 is beyond me. I think Rabbs has gone a few years too long. He forgets names of players & at times makes no sense. Johns, Lockyer & Fittler….well i fall asleep when they speak. The bias towards their favorite teams is sickening most of the time. At least Vossy gives exciting, unbiased commentary of games & makes it bearable.
As for the drugs issue……I tend to agree with John Allan. Implying that illicit drugs taken by players to mask issues is ‘understandable’ kind of means drinking & DV is understandable coz it masks deeper issues also? I’m not sure what the best scenario is to try & ‘treat’ these deeper issues players have…..naming & shaming is not really the way coz it can cause further distress & ultimately lead to a worse situation. What to do? I think i’m rambling on lololol.
