Wondered that myself. With his style of play and this type of injury he’ll for ever be placing strain on other areas (groin?). Knees are always tricky, even when right you can’t help but subconsciously protect that area to some extent after an op.

The French may of created the illusion of being the better side on the night by playing well above any prior performance in the tournament. I’ve watched the replay a couple of times and personally think the French at the very least matched the AB’s if not played better. No disputing though, the best team in the world and the best team in the tournament won the cup.

Just one small thing, those dudes over in Adelaide will have to relinquish their colours, their navy blue, yellow and red are too close to our new jumper of red, yellow and black … come to think of it, their crow logo looks a bit Weka-ish, so they’ll need a new bird too.

Hmm, what should we name the team? does it have to be a bird? .. hmm .. maybe we go with the super hero type deal like Carlton or the Saints. Can’t have Chiefs, thats already been done. Ok maybe we go with the bird thing.
What about Weka? yeah, a flightless NZ bird kinda fits, and we can’t have Kiwi, too nationalised. People will start thinking it’s an NZ sport. NZFL does kinda have a ring to it mind you … ok we can work on that part later.
Sorted, the WAIKATO WEKA’S it is.
