Giants must be favourite but Geelong have the form. The test is their ageing list and how they can rotate successfully in the back half of the season

Footy Fix: The Cats are inevitable - and they're smarter, clutcher, quicker, and scarier than ever

So true, the tag more correctly applies to Collingwood and Brisbane.

AFL News: Lyon says Blind Freddy can see what derailed Demons must fix, Payne in doubt, Maynard vs Greene key to prelim

I’ve seen less biased posts on the Collingwood fans page. Oh wait.

TOM MORRIS: Inside the AFL's call to overrule MRO on Maynard - and how Tribunal verdict will shape the game

I am a Dees fan. The Grundy recruitment was completely strategic. Insurance if Gawn gets injured otherwise Grundy needs to earn his spot somewhere else in the best 22. He will never be a forward but holding this ace will help them to a higher draft pick – I’d think second round. There is no quandry for Dees to resolve, its a win in any case.

TOM MORRIS: The hidden peril the Dees can't afford to risk in trading Brodie Grundy

I think this works nicely in our favour.

'If you can't handle that': Defiant Pommie paceman defends disgraceful 'f---ing prick' send-off

Dees past strength in centre clearances has been nullified and, slowly teams are sending chaos balls into D50 which throws out defensive structure. Goody needs to get the forward line right, they are incredibly wasteful in front of goal. Monday will be the litmus test

The Demons are on track for premiership glory - they just need everything to click

Do we actually think a GWS relocation to Canberra works? Canberra is already supporting 2 other codes, crowds wont be any bigger there than Western Sydney.

Welcome Tasmania, but the AFL should be a 16-team competition so three clubs must go

Well played cats. So how many retirements do we think? Surely Selwood hangs up the boots

AFL Grand Final Focus: Dad's Army wins the war - here's how Chris Scott's Cats produced their masterpiece

I am an eagles fan and this is a mess. Given the proportion of south pacific islanders in the team, they should have seen this coming. Made worse if the players weren’t consulted. Their gesture to broaden the event has back fired. Putting Dessy on camera was strategic but still a huge failure.

Hasler's hair-raising humility saves Sea Eagles by tiptoeing through cultural war minefield

exactly. simples

Wanna stay on the field? Don’t hit a player in the head

Their ability to rebound from their worst first half this year was a positive sign they are finding a way to “get back to the game plan”. We cannot under-estimate Choc’s influence on their self-belief and that’s translating into a high pressure, expansive game. As a Dee’s fan there is alot to get excited about after years of abject failure

Melbourne are the real deal

I am a Manly fan and while there is disproportionately high amount being paid to Tapau, DCE and the turbo’s (Walker may be another) I’d be interested to see if they are spending all of their cap, whether by choice or through lack of funds. Things were dire when Barrett left and I doubt they’ve improved

With the Sea Eagles paralysed by flawed logic, Dessie could simply up and walk

does anyone actually believe manly are spending up to their cap?

Can anyone think of another team who will take the wooden spoon? Bombers maybe but I sense all bets will be off shortly

Why North Melbourne will not win the 2021 wooden spoon

Great analysis. In part they don’t have the cattle but more concerning is the air of complacency in their game. Its like their playing style mirrors Desies own nonchalance, “siege mentality” which is wearing incredibly thin
Their defensive structure is B grade and everything in attack revolves around DCE. He seems to take the same option each time and expects a different result. Hit ups are formulaic and no offloading. AFB’s and Joel Thompson’s loss cant be overstated either. We are lacking ball runners and line breakers. I’d have to agree with the group its time for change and plan effectively for 2022

Insipid Manly must change from top to bottom

I think they refer to that as an honourable loss. Against Penrith I’d settle for a margin of less than 20

Manly ready to get in grind with Panthers

Dees fan here and I agree with intercepts in defense and control of the ball across the field. Tomlinson and Jetta in particular have played their parts. Also, our conversion rate into the forward 50 has also improved. While its only round 3 I wouldn’t have banked on 2 wins and a very good chance against GWS this Sunday. Our pressure has also impressed, particularly against Saints who made that a feature in 2020.

The competitive advantage making Melbourne an AFL premiership sleeper
