Good squad and agree a few changes needed to the authors suggested line up. My pick would be Can McInnes over Hynes so you have cover at dummy half (+ rotation), lock, second row which he can cover well. I’d also have Best over Turbo + Lomax over Fox being a bigger body and more utility value

To my opinion, my only dislike of Gutho is the way he seems to lose control when the team are down; yelling at teammates more, taking over halves duty and generally derailing the team by not showing leadership under pressure.

The NRL should have been smart enough to say publicly when registering Jennings that, despite their forgivings in doing so, they have no legal reason to deny it according to their lawyers. Put blame on the roosters and lawyers. Then outline what would happen if he reached 300 games and avoid the fire storm created by ignoring it until the week before the 300 game.

Firstly Latrell should be recognised and applauded for telling Addo-Carr’s teammate to stop trying to pick him up and to help The Fox into a recovery position.
Secondly, Wighton is wasted at centre (too good). I’d have Wighton at 5/8 and Walker/Ilias/Hawkins at half (take your pick, none are jumping out to show they’re better than the other).

I’ve often wondered why Concord Oval wasn’t redeveloped to have both a centre of excellence and a 20,000 seat stadium combined. Benefits of the ground include location for transport (buses and trains) is a trillion times better than Leichhardt, minimal residential neighbours and centrally positioned to Balmain and Ashfield (traditional homes of both clubs)

Who cares if it’s a minority. The resident US minority in a stadium near capacity with great atmosphere will tell their friends and family to go the following year and slowly that minority grows. That must be the hope and dream for the NRL to build local demand and make this a marquee weekend for the Americans to want to be a part of each year.

Surely Fox Sports could heavily promote and show League in the US throughout the season in prime time slots (it’s in their financial interest after all). Their promotion is just as important for the next twelve months as anything the NRL or US version of NRL does next. Equally, get a pre game of US teams out there in future years to show the US they have their own competition to follow, not just the overseas comps.
