Tigers playing Poker going all in with a pair of 2s and hoping the river goes their way 🥊

The Fish that broke the Panthers’ back: Dynasty in danger with JFH the biggest blow in long list of star departures

It’s a strong squad and could be deadly with Taulagi out and Ponga in with a licence to come in off the wing and to interchange with Walsh at fullback if Walsh needs a breather.

Injury-hit Maroons won’t panic over Origin selections but just sit back and laugh at Blues’ hullabaloo

Good squad and agree a few changes needed to the authors suggested line up. My pick would be Can McInnes over Hynes so you have cover at dummy half (+ rotation), lock, second row which he can cover well. I’d also have Best over Turbo + Lomax over Fox being a bigger body and more utility value

Wild idea but Blues should actually pick Origin team on form this time around - and that means Tedesco’s time is up

To my opinion, my only dislike of Gutho is the way he seems to lose control when the team are down; yelling at teammates more, taking over halves duty and generally derailing the team by not showing leadership under pressure.

NRL Round 6 Talking Points: Concussion sub needs a fix, learning about 'disruption', why does everyone hate Gutho?

Talking about Wayne having assistant coaches ready to take over, the Phins approach is likely to be more successful than JD given Woolf has been head coach in England and for Tonga. He is not unfamiliar with the whole job as JD was.

Wayne Bennett is back on top ahead of Brisbane battle - and he'll be happy to let the Souths chatter continue

But only wash down after the blood of a few players who need to be put in line are added to the mess

NRL News: Schuster granted personal leave, Mal expresses Souths interest as Demetriou fights to save job

If only Souths had an alternative 5/8 in their team… possibly a 5/8 who won the Dally M only a few years ago… imagine if they centred their thoughts and looked wide (but not far) for an alternative 5/8….

Rabbitohs rubbish Meninga rumour as Cook admits he's 'frustrated, angry and sad' over losing his spot

The NRL should have been smart enough to say publicly when registering Jennings that, despite their forgivings in doing so, they have no legal reason to deny it according to their lawyers. Put blame on the roosters and lawyers. Then outline what would happen if he reached 300 games and avoid the fire storm created by ignoring it until the week before the 300 game.

NRL rejects Jennings 300th game celebration as 'past conduct' criticisms mount

So is Maguire 😂

Demetriou facing sack after Souths' disastrous start with Bennett, Bellamy, Burgess possible replacement options

Imagine if Jye Gray absolutely kills it for the 3+ games he gets and the Souths coaching staff still put Trell into fullback when he returns… perfect solution (if Gray shows he’s the future) is Trell covers Campbell for the season at centre… and stays there sub one of the centre spots when he’s back (Campbell goes well on the wing as an option). And if he wants to continue to be a mug, go play lock

Latrell cops lengthy ban for high elbow hit on Johnson as Souths coach laments 'stupid' acts

Reynolds minor hammie strain could be great for Broncos giving Reyno a chance to properly rest his knee early in the season and be fitter in the back end than what he otherwise could have been. That is so long as the injury doesn’t result in enough losses to fall out of the top 4 at seasons end…

NRL News: Ilias carried off in reggies with Warrior sent off, Best possible news for Reyno despite hamstring issue

Firstly Latrell should be recognised and applauded for telling Addo-Carr’s teammate to stop trying to pick him up and to help The Fox into a recovery position.
Secondly, Wighton is wasted at centre (too good). I’d have Wighton at 5/8 and Walker/Ilias/Hawkins at half (take your pick, none are jumping out to show they’re better than the other).

Foxx off AGAIN, Wighton grabs double and Latrell booed as Souths ease Demetriou pressure

They knocked it all down to ground and started again.

'I don't have spare dollars': Death sentence for Leichhardt as NSW Premier rejects Tigers' reno plans

I’ve often wondered why Concord Oval wasn’t redeveloped to have both a centre of excellence and a 20,000 seat stadium combined. Benefits of the ground include location for transport (buses and trains) is a trillion times better than Leichhardt, minimal residential neighbours and centrally positioned to Balmain and Ashfield (traditional homes of both clubs)

'I don't have spare dollars': Death sentence for Leichhardt as NSW Premier rejects Tigers' reno plans

And/or dropping Latrell

Ilias not even half the problem as Rabbitohs' woes run far deeper than struggling playmaker

The more enticing option for Guido and NRL is to give the next franchise licence to him, tied in of course with the same caveats that got the Dolphins over the line.
Christchurch or Perth 49ers…

NRL News: NFL owner wants to buy league franchise after Vegas debut, Kiwi star to retire, Raiders duo face uncertain future

Who cares if it’s a minority. The resident US minority in a stadium near capacity with great atmosphere will tell their friends and family to go the following year and slowly that minority grows. That must be the hope and dream for the NRL to build local demand and make this a marquee weekend for the Americans to want to be a part of each year.

NRL News: Walker confirmed fit for Vegas opener, 'biggest fan day ever' as crowds welcome players

Surely Fox Sports could heavily promote and show League in the US throughout the season in prime time slots (it’s in their financial interest after all). Their promotion is just as important for the next twelve months as anything the NRL or US version of NRL does next. Equally, get a pre game of US teams out there in future years to show the US they have their own competition to follow, not just the overseas comps.

If the NRL want to win over America, what happens in Vegas has to stay there all year around

Does that mean former PM Helen Clark was the Prime Missus?

Usman Khawaja sets off accidental political storm in NZ

North Sydney to Central Coast (as they should’ve been allowed to do).
Wests to Campbelltown.
Perth come in along with Adelaide m.
3 new teams, everyone plays each other once with a representative window in the middle for SOO and a pacific nations cup which will involve most players in the NRL and take away any singular impact (good or bad) to any particular clubs plus keep weekends full for broadcasters and fans.

NRL News: Politis' PNG snub, radical conference shake-up in odd proposal, Sharks switch skippers

That try was no try at best and a double movement at worst. Despite that however, there was still plenty of time left in the game, though chasing down a lead could have changed the panthers style of play.

Lastly, why can’t the NRL side get a trial or two in before the WCC!? It would help iron out the off season rust

'Lying is a sin': To'o takes aim at Wardle, referee 'making assumptions' with contentious try as Wigan upset Panthers

Munster might lose his origin jersey to Mam this year depending on personal form from last year being the same and results in game 1 and possibly game 2 of SOO. Mam combo with Walsh and other Broncos in SOO will strengthen that possibility.

Buy, sell, hold - Who are the 10 most valuable players on the NRL trade market?

It’s a fair point, central coast is not Sydney and has a big junior catchment

Want the Bears back? Then get real - forget about North Sydney Oval and commit to genuine NRL expansion

He better have a couple of lines of explanation for the NRL!!

'Ignore trolls who grabbed my phone': Panthers star charged by NRL over 'Boxing Day lines' post

It’s definitely looking like time for Cummins and Starc to swap batting positions. There’s a Roar article in the question “Is Cummins achieving all rounder stats equal to or greater than Marsh and Green (and other international all rounders), therefore making Pat technically an all rounder?”
