D grade school prop and Reds tragic, will also get behind Cowboys and Broncos. Rarely miss watching a test match by Kangaroo's, Wallabies or Oz cricket. Also enjoy yacht racing.

I don’t have all the answers. But I do know post Covid RA have had to contend with reduced $ from the broadcast agreement which flowed directly to the $ they gave the 5 clubs.
2023 was a RWC year so there were less inbound tours and reduced revenue for RA.
They just announced a $9. 2 million loss.
I don’t think RA are exactly flush with cash so maybe going back to pre covid levels of funding was not possible? The Rebels can’t expect cash that was not there.

Rebels face more hurdles despite $25m rescue plan, call on RA to show support and reveal hand as court battle looms

Indigenous round?

Reds snap 25-year drought in Christchurch to beat Crusaders as Wilson, Ryan star

I don’t think much will come from a claim by Rebels on losing funding during Covid.
RA will be able to demonstrate that their contractual income from broadcast changed and therefore the grants had to change. The courts look at fair and reasonable terms.
The other beef the Rebels had on funding was a promise of $ from private equity sale. The P.E. sale did not eventuate therefore the promised funding did not eventuate.
Whether the Rebels have somewhere a smoking gun for the courts is unknown but a signed and executed participation agreement in July 2022 one would think would carry some weight in a legal judgement.

Around 20 minute mark, just before Fraser’s try. They show it in the replay- grub act from Crusaders.

The other piece of info from the VA report I gleaned Muggers is the timeline of events states a participation agreement was signed and executed by both parties in July 2022 which outlines the terms, conditions and revenue for participation in the comp.
The Rebels seem to think they can sue RA for $8 million after signing an agreement in July 2022. A fair bit of bluff me thinks.

Vunivala is riding the pine so all of Kiss decision aren’t that bad.

Super Rugby Pacific teams round 11: Harrison in for Edmed, Lynagh, White out, Rebels change entire front row

I think thats why I love conspiracy theories, particularly the ones I make up.

I’ll stay out of it the Jez.

Jorgensen set to be left out for Hurricanes as Schmidt drops in at Tahs training

I guess it would be (as usual) down to money KPM.
Would a rugby franchise offer more for an 18 year old backrow than NRL under 21 squad?

The Wrap: Rebels young gun rockets out of Wallabies contention, and why Samipeni Finau's 'brutal' hit on Edmed was fair game

Bugger, tough loss. But we’ll played Blues and Big Hosking’s what a game.

'Heartbreaking': Blues sink Reds with post-siren try after rising star scores epic hat-trick

If an Oz player performs that tackle at Carisbrook with Pickeril as Ref it’s a penalty all day long and the Kiwi video umps will frame by frame replay it to give Pickers the chance to have a cheese and wine moment.

'Purely coincidental': Chiefs coach defends bruiser after ANOTHER late shot leaves Tah flattened - but was it legal?

On page 14 Section 4.2 of the Adminstrators report a time line of events is listed.
July 2022 states ‘The participation agreement was signed and executed by both parties which outlined the terms, conditions and revenue for participation in the competition’
This intrigues me, I would love to read that agreement.
The Rebels Board whole crux of litigation is on RA underfunding.
COVID 19 caused a massive drop in RA revenue in 2020 and 2021 and funding to all Super clubs was slashed. So for Rebels to claim underfunding at a time when the whole game received reduced revenue is a bit weak.
If a new participation agreement was signed in July 2022 outlining revenue (and this is at reduced or current levels) – what is the basis of the Rebels claim?
It seems the basis of their claims are spurious!

UPDATE: RA say they were blindsided over Rebels' finances, reject private consortium claim as administrator backs club's survival

Paragraph 7 raised my eyebrows CS. RA stating they have met their contractual obligations.

Makes you wonder how solid the ground is beneath the threat of legal action by MRRU?

UPDATE: RA say they were blindsided over Rebels' finances, reject private consortium claim as administrator backs club's survival

I think that is what stands out to me Paul. The Rebels have been insolvent since 2018, this follows them being bailed out in 2017 when Cox sold the license to the VRU for $1.

UPDATE: RA say they were blindsided over Rebels' finances, reject private consortium claim as administrator backs club's survival

That’s a good comment Bobby. The money RA throw at untestrd outside backs is foolish.
Throw some wads of cash at the piggies for a change.

Wallabies in danger of losing Hanigan to ambitious French club just as forward enters his prime

The flawed Rugby nominations committee that Ross Tulloch derides has come up with Alexi Baker as a proposed candidate for the Board.
I wonder what makes her unsuitable to SOARR.
– Experience at Channel 9?
– A former NRL Exec?
– Or under 60 and Female?

'Definition of madness': Rugby reform must start with total cleanout of RA board - and this should happen next

Cale was also talked up Fez.
The latest bright and shiny new thing that needs to be in Wallyb’s gold.

Can’t wait to see a backrow containing both Cale and Gleeson exuding their intimidating presence. Rush them straight in don’t wait for them to develop.

Brumbies 'systematically taken apart by the Blues' in 'non-contest' as Larkham's men cop huge reality check

Every team has a bad day at the office.
The Brumbies just had one.

The Reds had a shocker v the Force (40-31) and played poorly against Moana (17-14).
But the Brumbies seemed to give up in the second half and the scoreline reflected this. They did not even play for pride.

Nah we’re claiming underdog status!

Super Rugby teams week 9: Beale back for first time in 1494 days, Reds make 6 changes, Wallaby returns for Brumbies

Good read and well articulated case Harry.
I was against the concept of picking players from OS for a while. However seeing the talent move overseas at a younger age and they train and play in a higher standard competition.
We need to pick the best to be competitive against the Lions and home RWC no matter where they pay their trade.

Scrap the Giteau Law: Rugby Australia should look to Rassie's 'Boks RWC recipe if it wants to re-join the big boys' table

A bit for Kiss to consider when putting the 23 together.
Do you keep Liam Wright at blindside or give Bryant a start?
Is Paisami and Petaia a good centre combo or is Petaia best to stay on the wing and Taj Annan starts in the centres?
Connor Anersen or Joe Brial to come into the 23 in the backrow?

Reds cop another blow with Wallabies hopefuls to miss Highlanders clash

I thought Fraser might have been 1 week.
Tate’s 3 weeks is fair – his was always going to be 3-4 based on previous good behaviour.
