Remember McDonald=Tipungwuti was adopted by his (now) mum who lives in gippsland; I’m sure there is still some “go home” factor but he has family in Victoria now. So not a typical remote community footballer in that respect.

Do black lives really matter in the AFL?

For an article of this size without the benefit of an editor I think you’re doing pretty well mate 👍

Do black lives really matter in the AFL?

I’m a neutral looked good to me

After 81 days, we get the ultimate letdown

Agreed with your comment regarding the comparison to AFLW. It’s a great indicator that if the professionalism of the players is allowed to improve, the standard will dramatically improve with it. The AFL hasn’t had semi-professional players since the 80’s and look at the games from back then – scrappy, kick to position affairs where often teams were simply forcing the ball forward however they could. Hopefully the AFL noted the comparison also.

Nice summary, thanks

Welcome back, footy. We missed you

4 takeaways from the round and two of them are about the worst game of football in living memory. If you want to just review Collingwood games by all means do so, but if you want takeaways from an entire round of footy you might want to spread it around more. No mention of Adelaide’s embarrassing showdown performance (or Port’s impressive one), Essendon arguably overcoming an even more fractured preparation than North to hold on, Melbourne and Carlton’s thriller, Geelong’s domination of Hawthorn at the Cattery, St Kilda starting show the on-field improvement that was expected last year, Freo continuing to disappoint etc. It was a busy round and all those things ( and more) were more worthy of discussion than 1 goal review in a game you have already covered.

My four takeaways from Round 2

Carlton have been almost there for 20 years now. They were bad even with Curnow and co. playing, now they will be diabolical. They could just send Cripps out to play by himself and keep the other 21 at home social distancing and still do nearly as well

Six talking points from Round 2
