Yeah…no. For mine it’s af follows (overseas players in caps):
1. Slipper
2. Porecki
3. Tupou
4. Rodda
5. Philip
6. Valetini
7. Hooper (c)
8. Wilson
9. McDermott
10. COOPER
11. KOROIBETE
12. KEREVI
13. Ikitau
14. Kellaway
15. Campbell
16. Fainga’a
17. Bell
18. AAA
19. Holloway
20. McReight
21. White
22. JOC
23. Petaia

Could have Hodge at FB if needed over Campbell (Banks is very overrated) and Paisami at 13 (coinflip for me there). Could also consider Swain on bench over Holloway.

Jumping the gun by a few weeks: A Wallabies 23 to face the Poms

A few changes I’d make next Test:

1. Slipper
2. Uelese
3. Tupou
4. Philip
5. LSL
6. Swinton (if fit)
7. Hooper (c)
8. Wilson
9. McDermott
10. Lolesio
11. Koroibete
12. To’omua
13. Ikitau
14. Kellaway
15. Hodge
16. BPA
17. Bell
18. AAA
19. Rodda
20. McReight
21. White (if fit)
22. Petaia
23. Banks

If Swinton isn’t fit, start McReight at 6 and just play L/R with him and Hooper. Got beaten at breakdown so 2 ball-fetchers makes sense. Valetini on bench in that scenario.

Paisami had a shocker. Poor decision-making. Not much to be said there. The old head and smarts of To’omua inside Lolesio would also make for a steadying influence and he and Hodge (more on him later) could take kicking duties if need be. Also, MT had an instant impact off the bench.

Tupou is best tighthead going around IMO, unfathomable that he isn’t starting. AAA wasn’t bad but TT needs to start.

Need a lineout technician starting and LSL’s versatility around the paddock keeps him there for me. Swain replaced by Philip, Rodda on bench as cover. Rodda should end up starting at least once this year.

Petaia was quiet but is a talent, so moves to bench for Marika. Should play 15 for Reds as well, but that’s a discussion for another time.

Banks not world class. Hodge best option, plain and simple. Could easily have put Petaia in 23 and had QC at 22 for 10 cover, but Kellaway and Petaia can easily cover FB should Hodge go down, and Hodge/To’omua can cover 10 should Lolesio get injured or perform abysmally.

Nic White on bench if fit. If not, Ryan Lonergan. Gordon is not the future and yet very inexperienced, so if you want an old head then go with White when fit. If not, go Lonergan (who is very underrated). As a Reds fan, I think Lonergan could snag the starting role at the Brumbies in the close future.

BPA dropped for poor lineout. Uelese made an instant impact off the bench as well.

For me it’s Pocock, Campese, Larkham, Horan, and Eales

My five favourite Wallabies of all time

Thorn played State of Origin for QLD in League, so I think you’ll find he knows a thing or two about QLD pride and how to successfully rev the players up

They’d invite the MLR champs who’d (probably) lose to most SR teams?!

Brilliant idea – but re the standard equipment, I have a bit of an issue. I’m predominantly a swimmer and almost all meets have athletes competing in different race suits. For example, I’m sponsored by arena, so I wear their suits, whereas someone sponsored by speedo would be expected to wear their gear, or someone not sponsored at all might wear whatever brand they wanted. Furthermore, some brands have specific fits for different body types compared to other brands, for example, a speedo fit is different to an arena fit. Sometimes, the type of suit varies from stroke to stroke, for example, a breaststroker would want a more flexible suit than a butterflyer as the breastroker needs to have no restriction on their leg motion. Then there’s the issue of where to draw the line – must rugby players all wear the same type of boots or all runners have the same spikes for example? I’d keep regulations on equipment as per their governing body’s laws rather than make all athletes compete in standardised gear which they may not be used to.

Which country is the world's best at sport?

Personally, this would be my team:

1. Slipper
2. Fainga’a
3. Alaalatoa
4. Rodda/Philip
5. LSL
6. Liam Wright/Samu
7. Hooper
8. Wilson
9. White
10. JOC
11. Koroibete
12. To’omua
13. TK
14. Banks
15. DHP

16. Mafi/Rangi
17. Tupou
18. Sio
19. Philip/Rodda
20. Samu/Liam Wright
21. McDermott
22. Harrison
23. Hodge

Revelaed: The full team the Wallabies must pick for their next Test, as voted by you

I think everyone is referring more to the fact that we need to develop a young 10 for the next RWC. To’omua and JOC will both be in their mid-30s by then

Of the 3 reserve 9’s (McDermott, Louwrens, and Powell), I would go with Tate on the bench. He’s an ‘impact player’, the kind of guy who comes off the bench when the defense is tired and catches them napping. In other words, he’s more exciting and eyes-up. To pick a starter though, I’d go Powell (if White wasn’t in the mix) as he has the most well-rounded game IMO and has more experience than the others.

Yeah he did and I think 11 too… classic

Pick your Wallabies side for whenever they play next: Part 2 - bench and captain

No Hodge as a utility back? Current form hasn’t been spectacular but he’s versatile and has a massive boot.

Surprised not to see Tate in your 23 Dilkington?
