Would have thought the tanking saga would be a moment that shaped the club.

The decade that was: Melbourne

In my opinion 2015 > 2016, 2016 was probably a better game overall but nothing compares to the twists and turns of that last 5 minutes of game time in 2015, it was Rugby League theatre, watching Feldt score in the corner was unforgettable, took a few seconds for my brain to process what I had just seen, the noise in the crowd as he put it down it was almost like an explosion in the ground, I had entertained the idea of selling my ticket in the week leading in to the game, would have lived to regret it for the rest of my life had I followed through, the best live sporting event I’d ever been to till last year’s World Cup Final at Lord’s.

Ten 'you had to be there' moments in Australian sport

Cricket mate, went to all Aussie games, 2 Semis and the Final, cost me a pretty penny but money very well spent, even got spotted on tele half a dozen times, including next to Big Merv at the final.

What events are on your sporting bucket list?

Went to last year’s World Cup, to say it was an experience of a lifetime would be a criminal understatement, particularly the Final, to be honest the memories of that are currently getting me through this, because if this happened last year I would be a very broken man, would have resulted in 5 years of hard work and savings only to have to surrender everything.

I said while I was at the Australia v Bangladesh game last year (at the World Cup) to one of their fans it’s a shame Australia never bring Bangladesh out here, of course they’re not going to improve if they don’t play here, in my opinion we should have bought them out instead of Sri Lanka in 18/19, can’t have been any less competitive, and would have been a change rather than the same 3 teams and at most 2-3 others in a 4 year cycle.

My top five Test knocks by Bangladeshi batsman

2 of the last 3 minor Premiers haven’t reached 17 wins, yet you have all of the top 4 reaching 17+, big call, also like to know how you worked out the percentages.

AFL predictions for 2020

The Semi Final at Edgbaston was the real 1999 World Cup Final, and probably the best game of ODI cricket up until July 14 last year, being lucky enough to be there was beyond my wildest dreams so I’ll always be biased as to which one of those matches is my favourite, not much of a Rugby fan but I do know we were once good at it lol.

I went to bed at the innings break of the 438 game and haven’t trusted anyone or anything since

Good article, I read a lot of other people’s articles whinging about the unfairness of the draw while offering either little to no solution or solutions that would be untenable, but this one has a lot of merit and could work well for everyone, as a Tigers fan living in Sydney I would love to see Richmond 2 weeks in a row without having to travel interstate, might entice me to get to more Victorian games too, although I can’t see a team like Fremantle playing on a Thursday or Friday at the moment, especially not in Sydney either.

Let’s get more creative with AFL fixturing

Yeah I bet he has nightmares about his 3 Premierships, number 6 would probably though.

Every NRL club's new year wishes for 2020

So Melbourne played 18 games in Melbourne and 7 interstate (Rd 4 SCG, Rd 8 Metricon, Rd 9 Optus, Rd 11 Darwin, Rd 15 GABBA, Rd 17 Alice Springs and Rd 23 Hobart)? Yeah bull$#!t, in case you didn’t know when it’s a Victorian club vs another Victorian club, you can guarantee that match will be played in… Victoria, mind-blowing isn’t it? Funniest thing is of all interstate teams to complain about the inequality of the draw, Port Adelaide are probably the team with the least right given that on top of their 12 home state games, they also get a game in China as the “away” team despite being the only team to play every match there, but no mention of that while you were preaching draw inequality, bet if it were a Victorian club you would have been all over it.

The AFL fixture is biased towards Victorian clubs
