Probably has to do with how Aussie became more interested in individuals and so many other sports and how rugby is really not a huge sport in the country. As such when some dropkick reporters need a story they focus on one individual. If they were a good team no one would focus much on individuals. Sad for them. But it’s not a big sport for there.

If you thought your 9, or Skelton or indeed Vunivalu was going to be the reasons for you losing a pool game it says a lot about how you view rugby strategy. This is not a gameplan. You need 30+ points on the scoreboard by full time. That’s your objective. This stuff is commentary on individuals. Wake up to yourself Aussie. You used to be about the team not the individual. They will need to put 30+ on the Welsh also in my opinion. Have a very strong view that Aussie only win games when they can have a fast start (see them against NZ in Otago recently but then they went off the mission) and finish with 30+ on the board. Simplistic? Yes. Sustainable? No. But it’s a World Cup, you don’t get another go for another 4 years.

What continues to perplex is the over complication and lack of awareness on much of Aussie analysis and what needs to be done. Put 30+ on that scoreboard! It’s a simple but very visible objective.
