Ide actually like to see all 3 included in the AFL. Include Norwood, South Freo, Darwin. 22 team comp. Top up finance is available to cover smaller base clubs as the AFL do anyway.
And yeah, big 4 clubs to travel every second year as away along with every club too. Balances everything so it wont happen 😂

I wouldnt say Adelaide is too small to included Norwood. Look at gather round. There AFL nutts all throughout SA. This would be and should be good for the game. GC and GWS (and north, WB, StKilda) all have smallish support base but they all have enough. Add South freo and we have a 20 game season.

Lynch, Gibcus, Presti all pretty much long term is going to hurt. So much better with Lynch. At least the young guys will get some game time. Not 100% on Ryan just yet but he has the potential. Jacob Bauer needs some game time. Hats off to Ross, Mansell, Dow, Miller, Campbell, Mikalti, Brown but going to miss Lynch big time.

Very well said. I also noticed WC have zero pressure, lack intent and dont look anywhere near it ATM. You cant even compare Richmond and WC in the same space. Adam Simpson should have gone a few years back. With Dimma leaving Richmond (and then a couple years late) its started a new era under ooz. Theres a lot to like on the Tigers win. Way more advanced than WC.

The 3 strike drug code has been in play in the mines for a long time. Sim thing was to call in sick to beat the 3 strike system. Once you abolish the test on the day system it will sort things out. Drugs are a huge problem in all walks but this “loophole in the AFL system” seems to have had its day.

Yes a 10 min, 20min or rest of the game rest would sort out a few hot heads at that time.
Leigh Matthews is wrong - the AFL doesn't need a send-off rule, and introducing one would just make things messier

This is a good idea. Soon to be 18 rounds but throw in a bye a couple weeks of SOO, a bye then back into it.

Fully understand the article but from a Qld prospective I have to slightly disagree. The concept was great but as for the execution? The fundamentals of zero round are good for the game up here. The stupid name along with the way it only had 8 teams is beyond us all? Yep Rich, Coll, Carl, Ess fans (Ess fans will be included at some point) are required to fill otherwise empty seats up and that is the point. Whats gone missing is the fact to boost the attendance (excluding Bris and Sydney swans) and give us that atmosphere up here will help support the local community interest and help it grow our game in the long term. But now because of 5 day breaks, byes and reality checks it is very disruptive. like you said it requires a 7 week recovery. A coarse without a clue that lacks refinement.

Hows all the Carlton supporters patting them selves on the back for that win 😂 Either Richmond (supposed bottom 4) who had 3 men down and lost by a kick are underated or Carlton who justed scraped in by a free kick win (De Koning 50 from what? he bumped into a mouse) are way over rated. Opening Round is an awesome concept for those in NSW and QLD. It was nice to get the spotlight on GC and GWS with the bigger clubs and crowds for a change. Its def good for footy in the long run up here!

Either extra WA team would help work (bring in a traditional team). Southport Sharks too (should have been a no brainer). Talent pool is an issue now but if you see how good the suns academy is working, theres a hope that system will help it grow throughout. Im not sure why we dont have 8 on every bench now. Too many soft tissue issues as is. Plenty will disagree but its time the AFL becomes the AFL.
