Is anyone else alarmed that they have already dipped into the $80m loan facility to the tune of 50 large?

Rugby Australia announce $9.2m deficit, board member fails to be re-elected but coup falls over

The shoulder line isn’t the top of the shoulder, sadly i can’t add a diagram to show it… more to the point though, even if you argue it was low enough, there was no attempt to pull out of the tackle and the both angles look quite consistent with World Rugby definition of a shoulder charge. Either way he is playing with fire, ironically the big hits on small 10’s is probably the thing that stops him playing test rugby this year. Too high risk for test match rugby. I’m sure the Kiwi’s can’t stomach losing more games by small margins due to high shots.

The Wrap: Rebels young gun rockets out of Wallabies contention, and why Samipeni Finau's 'brutal' hit on Edmed was fair game

There is a lot of confusion about this terminology but shoulder on shoulder contact is illegal . The frame work from the World Rugby website would indicate the tackle was illegal on a number of grounds. Zero effort to pull out of the tackle and tucked arms being among those.

Shoulder on shoulder contact is high, it should have been a penalty. Timing was OK, but geez, any small deviation and i would hate to see the outcome. The same tackle through connecting through the ribs would be more impressive and more effective.

Come on, you’re telling me that wasn’t shoulder on shoulder.

Shoulder on shoulder contact is high, even in the professional game. It should have been a penalty, I don’t think there should be debate about that. Given the fine margin of error he tempts and this players tendency to line up this type of hit it won’t be long before he spends several weeks on the sideline. If I was coaching him or playing with him, that would concern me. As a side note, he only attempts this type of hit on non NZ players, what does that say?

It wasn’t a bluff but there might have been some slight of hand.

Brumbies make it 12 straight against Tahs as Bell hobbles off in worrying sign for Wallabies

91 starting team was 9 NSW and 6 Qld…. what’s your point? Surely we can get over this silly parochialism and pick the best 23.

It’s the biggest market…… it really is that simple. they need to find a way to make the turnstiles spin.

There is very limited depth in ACT pathways. Just look at the scores in the U16 national comp last year and ponder why SOS messages were being sent to boys at boarding school who wouldn’t get anywhere near the NSW U16 team.

Fraser isn’t a test match 7, Gamble is. If you don’t understand this then I can’t help.

Brumbies make it 12 straight against Tahs as Bell hobbles off in worrying sign for Wallabies

Thanks for the deep analysis. Obviously a lot of them are test standard. Holloway, Hannigan, Gamble and Bell are. Jorgensen is but perhaps need time. The problems are execution and belief.

You have to feel for Bell . A reoccurrence of the same injury, is it 2 or 3 x raises so many concerns. Fingers crossed for the best and a speedy return to play.

The Pathways are so dumb, they go super narrow, super early and are slow to recognise late bloomers etc. The young good players simply don’t play enough to progress as players vs their peers in the Northern Hemisphere. The gap will only get worse.

'What the hell's going on': Ex-Wallabies question 'losing' culture, pathways at Waratahs

nope, I’m from Queensland. Gamble is superior, by a long way.

Gamble > McReight by a long way. Look at the data.

Should be illegal. It’s immoral at best.

'Let's see what the worst thing about rugby league is and do that': Loathsome blight union never needed

A list of things that could be classified as “a clear outcome ” might include; a win, a loss or a draw…. all quit clear. A team won, a team lost, they battled hard but could not be separated. All clear enough.

Schmidt is smart, he would LIKE to pick local, however he is open to picking international. Translation, just because you are local there is no free ride to the Wallabies, you need to perform. At least, that’s what I hope it means.

'Fighting with one hand tied': To'omua calls on Rugby Australia to 'pick best Wallabies team' to stop international slide

Unapproved Investment? Is that what the spin doctors told them to say? Do they think we are toothless, brainless zombies? Seriously, investment implies the expectation of some return, some mutiple on your capital paid back. You don’t get that from travel, steak and massages or shrinks. Scoundrel hoodlums, the lot of them. I hope the spin doctor is at least acting pro bono. Unauthorised investment, please. Corporate fraud and grift more likely.

Waugh reveals shocking $2.6 million unapproved budget blowout on Eddie Jones' World Cup debacle

Yes, but is the asset money good? No point owning a loans in a business that can’t repay them.

Rebels set to sue Rugby Australia as civil war erupts, Rugby Victoria President barred from summit

The NRL is at loggerheads with the NSWRL… pre VLandys and in the midst of Covid the NRL was in serious trouble. This is no fix unless you are looking to euthanise Union.

A lot of comments speculate on the death of Rugby in Oz. The schools and local clubs will be fine, they’ve funded themselves forever and balanced the books because they had to. Both are actual and effectively subsidising the professional game. The good in this might be that the fiduciaries in charge of the game at higher levels might finally be gone. If private equity end up owning the game it will be run properly, if money is spent on funding a team a return will be required. Heaven knows, they might actually Chanel money into grass roots, realising the benefit of retaining and developing talent.
