Unfortunately one too many tackles on the head for Joey.. at the end of the day you can’t fix stupid..

Pay cuts will show the players are genuine partners in the NRL

Awesome article. Top bloke and a good family man. Rugby doesn’t last forever, family does. Good to see you make it up there and hope the family are doing well

Aussie abroad: Caleb Timu

First 20 for the Wallabies and the physicality will be so important.. people like Simmons need to step up big time.

If they can survive that without Samoa getting a sniff or even being in front on the scoreboard by then it’ll be okay.

The Manu are a confidence team and if you give them a sniff they’ll go in for the kill. I’d say Australia (or as Sheek would call them “Qantas Wallabies”..) by 10 ???? ..

Samoa Test: Are combinations more important than game time?

The Wallabies must respect the Manu otherwise there will be a repeat of 2011.. Samoa have not been able to field their best side throughout the PNC but nothing will please them more than to claim a morale boosting win against a tier one nation going into the RWC..

Defence will be the killer for Samoa because of the lack of cohesion and game time together as a team.. so the Wallabies should capitalise.. as per usual counter attack footy, physicality and their forward pack (surprisingly) will be their strength.. players to look out for Alaalatoa, Matu’u, Lam, Leiua, Fonotia, TJ Ioane, Nanai-Williams..

There are a couple of home grown Aussies too in this Samoan team too.. Seuteni, Alo-Emile, Taefu, Malolua, Toleafoa, Lam, Alaalatoa

It’ll be an awesome game.. cant wait!

Samoa Test: Are combinations more important than game time?

I hope you’re reading this mate.

Foley who? We called it mate with CLL, finally got a 10 who can give us what we need. Level head with all the core skills of a 10. Not flashy but we don’t need flashy, leave that to the outside backs.

Awesome game. Shame about the red card but the intent was very promising. But like Cheika said, we’ve only just bought a ticket to go to Eden Park. Blind optimism aside, the ABs in Auckland will be mission impossible.

Nine talking points from Wallabies vs All Blacks

Fair point.

It’s awesome now we have an alternative other than Foley that we can call upon and we’ll definately need to see some more to see if CLL can replicate the same kind of performance against other opposition.

Seven talking points from Wallabies vs Argentina

You missed out on the main point.. I was at the game and I think it was awesome that we’ve finally found our 10 in the most unlikely players.. Lealiifano showed everything we’ve been missing at 10 .. flat line attack.. defending in the channel.. game management.. cut out passes .. great set play organisation and execution.. reliable goals kicking.. combines well with White and Genia.. he should be our 10 for the RWC

Lose LSL for Jones or Samu who is a ruck monkey.. start Sio and AAA .. JOC for Hodge.. and we’re good..

Seven talking points from Wallabies vs Argentina

Bula vinaka mana! Awesome write up and I believe that the best way to resolve any issue is through discussion. I believe that a fair amount Pacific Islanders at heart follow the WWJD New Testament approach, but as a Samoan myself and as a high school teacher raised in Brisbane Australia and was heavily involved with many pacific island community groups. I think you and I are only part of a small minority friend (a growing minority thankfully)

Like you, I was raised in a church and interestingly there were many different opinions which varied depending on a lot of factors for the individual, including western influences, family upbringing, past parental cultural and religious ties and most importantly the level of education passed down from the parents. Combine this with a certain interpretation of the bible and then you will have the typical Pacific Islanders left or right wing belief in our topic that we are discussing today. (This also applies to any issue political, cultural etc)

It varies with the above combinations, but by and large the general consensus, according to my studies and my own personal observations and lived experiences, most do not openly support homosexuality. BUT there is a massive disparity in opinions and beliefs from first generation to third generation Samoan Australians, almost like the more it filters down the more relaxed their opinions and interpretations are.

In regards to the openly accepted third gender, Samoans do support them, but the third gender is different to man to man gay or woman to woman gay because majority of Samoans think and refer of the third gender as women. Even though the word Fafafine is loosely translated to transsexual in English the roles are essentially the same of a woman apart from baring children. So it’s a whole other world there, that is very complex to understand especially if you’re not Samoan because a lot of things in The Fa’asamoa and in the migrant societies of pacific island people are very hard to comprehend especially cause some of the typical ideologies are very hypocritical and I don’t want to generalise here because each Samoan community is different depending on the factors I mentioned in the beginning.

Interestingly the issue has been further complicated especially now that Samoans, Fijians and Tongans are all being termed together as PI’s and have been grouped together by the media and from Mr. Tupou himself.

At the end of the day this Folau saga is very tricky involving religion, sports, politics, marginalised minority groups on both ends etc which makes it so tough for it to be a contributor amongst the drama as everyone is apprehensive about sharing their views about the topic especially if they do not have a fair understanding of a lot of the factors which are involved in it.

Tupou on Folau: No thanks for the stereotype

A lot of the dialogue on here is so negative about Folau.. everybody anti-Folau need to take a chill pill.. I know he’s not a strong kicker and his defensive positioning is questionable at times.. but he’s definitely been one of our best over the last couple of years.. he’d make any international XV in a heart beat except for the ABs..

All eyes will be on Israel Folau tonight

Christmas has certainly come early..

???? @ Hanigan … wait for it

Hooper out, Pocock to captain at No.7

Any team without Simmons, Hanigan, Robertson and Phipps would make me happy…

But I hope towards the rugby World Cup we’d have a team that shapes up like this. Positions that I’ve put multiple options because no one has really kinda “owned” it so it’s anyones guess.

1 Sio
2 TPN
3 Ala’alatoa
4 Arnold
5 Coleman
6 McMahon
7 Pocock
8 Samu/Timu
9 Genia
10 Beale/Foley/Cooper
11 Hodge
12 Toomua
13 Kuridrani
14 Folau
15 DHP

16 Faingaa/Latu/Paega-Amosa
17 Kepu
18 Tupou
19 Phillips/Rodda
20 Hooper
21 Gordon
22 Kerevi
23 Banks/Maddocks

If you want a Wallabies shake-up, this may be the time
