A solid win for the Rebels, sure, but I didn’t see anything approaching ecstacy.

What’s that about an apostrophe?

The Wrap: 'Take them to a dark place' - A quiet round grabs eyeballs for all the wrong reasons

Listening to Schmidt, I feel like the grown ups are in charge again, after the madness of King Eddie (or should that be King Hamish).

'Talent can be fickle': Schmidt avoids rushing to conclusions as JOC calls for 'Reds-heavy' Wallabies

Re Suaalli, those weird comments from Hamish about phone calls are pretty clearly setting the stage.

He didn’t ask Suaalii his intentions because that would have spoiled the narrative he is building.

Ie, when Suaalii returns to league, it will be the fault of those who replaced Hamish. If the boneheaded bullies hadn’t stabbed Hamish in the back HE would have retained Suaalii. Because the kid loved Hamish, ya know……..

Such is the mind of a narcissist……

Rugby News: RA hunting missing million after contract blunder, Suaalii worth 10x more than his deal, McKellar's big win

1. Any loss of sponsorship is almost certainly due to the disastrous showing of the WBs in the last 12 months, not the sacking of McLellan.

2. McLellan has now publicly called his former colleagues bullies, backstabbers, boneheads and more. Noone at RA is firing back but still he keeps up the abuse, a sad attempt to impose maximum damage on exit. The employee from hell. Who would want him now?

'Shame on the plodders': Hamish blasts RA 'boneheads' as Harvey Norman deal ends - but founder denies link to axing

Interesting choice of words, “agitators”. Don’t recall the former captains being called that when they publicly attacked RC.

'No longer have any trust or faith': Rugby Australia chairman told to resign by SIX states, EGM looms with 'gloves off'

This new narrative that the budget blow-out was Eddie’s fault doesn’t sit well with the last but one narrative, the one about the 2023 RWC being a development camp for the 2027 RWC.

'Always knew it would get really ugly': RA chief's strange admission as World Cup budget blow out revealed

“Exacting standards like decency etc…”. Sounds delusional and arrogant to me.

Rugby News: 'Be courageous' - Eddie's come and get me plea to Japan, Bongi's dig at 'sad' reaction from 'first world country'

Not to mention Hamish’s “kiwi infection” and “kumbaya” comments.

'I'm so pissed off': Eddie open to walking away from Wallabies if it suits RA, sticks knife into Hoops, Quade

A true narcissist, positioning himself as both the hero and the victim.

No acknowledgement of his part in the disaster that has befallen Aus rugby in the last 12 months. Just tokenism. It’s all the fault of the administration (partly true) and the players.

If only he would run out of patience and walk without a payout.

'I'm so pissed off': Eddie open to walking away from Wallabies if it suits RA, sticks knife into Hoops, Quade

Carefully chosen words. RA may terminate the contract “without paying him out in full….”. So if it’s a 5 year contract that could be anything less than the 4 years remaining (eg 1, 2, or 3 years) and Eddie is negotiating a payout.

'I'm so pissed off': Eddie open to walking away from Wallabies if it suits RA, sticks knife into Hoops, Quade

Ok I admit it, I’m confused by that response.

And before you explain, Muzzo, I should point out that my team is the mighty Highlanders. At least you got my name right and called me “Aussi” as in French for “also”…..

Legacy vs ego: The Springboks are playing for South Africa, the All Blacks are playing for themselves

Sorry, wasn’t referring to you but other posters above, Piru. Jacko put a lot of effort into that insult 😂
But yes, subtle sarcasm can be risky 😂

Legacy vs ego: The Springboks are playing for South Africa, the All Blacks are playing for themselves

Hmm, seems like my sarcasm was lost on some 😂

Legacy vs ego: The Springboks are playing for South Africa, the All Blacks are playing for themselves

No, not random, they are a bunch of particularly selfish ego driven kiwis 😂

Legacy vs ego: The Springboks are playing for South Africa, the All Blacks are playing for themselves

We sre having a small family gathering to watch a final we never expected to make. I have two lots of champagne. One Moet, one Yellowglen. Which gets drunk depends on the result. Either way, a champagne breakfast is perfectly acceptable 😁

SPIRO ZAVOS: England's bully boy, no rugby display against Boks is the game they play in hell. Now for the salvation

Albo is partly to blame, for underestimating how low Dutton and the No campaign would go with their scare tactics. And not adjusting accordingly.

The “No” campaign was the first real example in Australia of Trump style politics where truth is the first casualty.

Dutton, Cash, Price and Mundine did that.

England's Curry accused Bongi Mbonambi of vile racial insult - but Boks fans have alternative explanation

I disagree strongly, Jacko.

I handed out several times for “yes” and had many discussions with “No” voters.

Al lot of overt racism and a lot of “they’ll make us pay to go to the beach” type responses. So many distortions and outright lies which spooked people.

The constitutional amendment established the principle and set very narrow parameters for the legislation, which was for Parliament to determine, just like all other legislation. A consultative mechanism. Very simple.

Your logic is like, if you murder and steal from someone who is French, then have to give back what you stole to the bereaved French children, they are receiving reparation ibecause they are French. Not because you stole from and murdered their parents.
For someone who has Einstein as their avatar, your grasp of logic is staggeringly inadequate.

I replied earlier but it disappeared. Voice was based on history. FN people could be Caucasian, or any other ‘race’. It wouldn’t matter. It is the history of invasion, dispossession,
genocide and slavery which gives rise to the need for the Voice.

Did you not see Robert French, former HCA Chief Justice, carefully explain this, so that even journalists understood the Voice was not race based, in his National Press Club address?

England's Curry accused Bongi Mbonambi of vile racial insult - but Boks fans have alternative explanation

Remember Matfield using homophobic abuse, think it was when he was playing for the Waratahs? Pocock rightly complained to the referee. It’s just not acceptable in this day and age.

Neither is racist abuse (whether it happened in this case is a different question).

England's Curry accused Bongi Mbonambi of vile racial insult - but Boks fans have alternative explanation

Wrong on slavery. It just wasn’t called slavery. A bit like we dont call livestock “slaves”. Easily researched.

Wrong on race. The FN people could have been Caucasian or any other ‘race’. They were here for 65000 years before invasion and that is the point of difference on which Voice was based. See Robert French’s speech to press club. Former HCA Chief Justice knows what he is talking about.

Why have constitutional recognition and constitutionally guaranteed Voice? Because FN people asked for it. Because legislative bodies HAVE been tried, then defunded and/or abolished. Because a voice needs continuity to be effective. And because it’s the right thing to do to recognise FN people and give them a constitutionally guaranteed voice. The constitution is currently based on the lie of terra nullius.

“Everyone should be treated equally under the law.” Illogical, and counterfactual. I want a veterans pension. I don’t get one. Because I’m not a veteran. Different circumstances give rise to differential laws and entitlements. In every sphere of law. FN people likewise have different and unique circumstances. It is your subjective value judgement that these circumstances – including dispossession and genocide – don’t warrant the recognition requested by FN people through the Uluru process.

Since the abolition of ATSIC, FN people haven’t had an effective, representative voice on matters that affect them. Illustrated by the fact that Price and Mundine, preposterously, claim to speak for FN people.

“Not all indigenous people are disadvantaged”. If you mean purely financially that is true. (Although FN people are still by far the most disadvantaged group in Aus. Chronic disease, life expectancy, educational levels, incarceration rates, suicide rates, any measure you like).

Culturally and socially it’s a different story, even for those you allege are not disadvantaged. The scars of history (and ongoing discrimination) don’t disappear just because you want them to. Intergenerational trauma is demonstrated beyond doubt. Not measured in $$$.

It’s not just about individual outcomes, as you seem to think. It’s also about respecting, and listening to, the world’s oldest living culture.

Such a small step of goodwill and reconciliation, proposed by FN people, which would have hurt no one. “No” was a slap in the face to FN people. What a tragic missed opportunity.

England's Curry accused Bongi Mbonambi of vile racial insult - but Boks fans have alternative explanation

Except it was never race based. That was part of the No campaign misinformation.

Voice was based on First Nations people having 65000 years of continuous custody of the continent, destroyed by invasion, occupation, genocide, slavery, with the resultant trauma and disadvantage.

Yep, recognition of FN people, and consultation about things that affect them. Scary stuff. Terrifying that the most disadvantaged group in Aus might get something you haven’t got, even though it would harm you not one iota.

Most civilised countries founded on colonisation have recognition or treaty.

Aus has trashed its reputation and shown its ugly side.

Both teams slowed it down so much the game nearly went into reverse 😂

'What you live for': Boks beat England in World Cup EPIC to set up mouth-watering final against All Blacks

How much is Eddie relying on the fact that he had an informal chat rather than an official interview?

There has been a lot of weasel words.

Wallabies coach Jones disloyal if Japan talks real, says Rugby Australia boss

Looks like EJ is trying to collect his second major payout by forcing RA to sack him before moving to Japan.

If the contract doesn’t contain a clause allowing RA to dismiss EJ without penalty if KPIs not met (eg making quarters) the whole board should resign.

Eddie digs in as he flies home - AGAIN denying he wants to quit to coach Japan, while revealing next step
