Bit light on for playmakers in midfield but our defence and attack looks pretty good. Be nice if we got to play Iran or South Korea in latter stages, seem to always play Uzbeks, Saudis and Japan in qualifying and Asian Cups.

A-League star wins surprise Asian Cup call, but Graham Arnold leaves big names at home

Batting for time gives your bowlers a chance to rest between innings. Be interesting to see what condition Broad and Anderson are in later in the 5 match series. England bowlers already clocked up 50 overs more in this match than Australia.

UK View: Stokes an 'untamed rebel who's too stubborn' and Springsteen concert that showed why Pat's the Boss

Also remembering he wasn’t even a midfielder this time last year. Fair old step up from playing as a medium sized defender at junior level to starting inside mid at AFL level, all within 12 months.

Reuben won't waste a day: hard-nosed Eagle claims Round 3 Rising Star nomination

Don’t think either team has their balance right. Brisbane play too tall and Port too short.

Brisbane and Port staring down the barrel of another wasted season

You can’t call deliberate until the ball crosses the line. What happens if the ball takes an irregular bounce and stays in. Decision was touch and go but the process is 100% correct and should not be changed.

Six Points: Bevo has a month to save himself, and the rule tweak needed to prevent another 'Sirengate'

Can’t see paramount tearing up the rights deal. It’s streaming service is complete garbage, surely the only people paying for the subscription are A-League fans?

It’s the distance derby mate, excitement and anticipation will keep you awake 😛

The APL needs to do more than just hope to build on World Cup momentum

Nothing promotes the game like small crowds and torrential rain.

Kickoff at 7:30 WST is hardly a graveyard shift for Perth Glory.

The APL needs to do more than just hope to build on World Cup momentum

I jumped on before the Brazil match, couldn’t believe they were 37/1 with only 8 teams left.

'Our performance deserved better': Kane in pain as late penalty miss sees England crash out and France advance

How many teams first penalty taker have missed? Spain, Japan, Brazil, Dutch. Gotta lead off with your best penalty taker and put the pressure on.

Messi survives miracle Dutch comeback to keep World Cup dream alive after shootout win

Probably should just worry about his current form and trying to make some runs overseas.

'She lost a baby', 'You can murder 25 people and get a trial': Warner's manager's fury as Candice, Clarke, Healy hit out

Can’t wait for A-League to return……. Oh wait, my team is Perth Glory 😔

Now that the Socceroos have proven the A-League's quality, it’s time for football fans to show up

I’d much rather Graham Arnold continue then hire a b-grade foreign option like we have previously.
In the meantime let Muscat, Kisnorbo etc keep building experience coaching overseas for an eventual takeover.

'I haven't even thought about it': Arnold future unclear as FA start World Cup review - as coach calls for A-League expansion

Mbappe having a Maradona-like tournament and England scoring some great team goals. Gonna come down to which defence can hold up.

Three nil Three Lions: England cruise past Senegal to set up mouthwatering clash with France

Tunisia played a French team that rested 9 players, I don’t think they should be feeling hard done by.

Give me Martin Tyler over Basheer any day. Why SBS wheel out this bore every 4 years is beyond me. Also, having lived in London for years I don’t have the same opinion of Peter Drury. His calling of England games are worse than Eddie Macguire commentating a Collingwood game.

Martin Tyler's commentary is ruining this World Cup - time to either put some effort in or retire

How many more articles on Roar and Fox sports websites on Mitch Langerak. Yep he was stiff to miss out but time to move on. Arnie has backed some guys in and given a chance to some youth that we haven’t seen much of, which is entirely his right as coach. World Cups are tough to make and even harder when you get there, maybe time we tone down the constant trashing of Arnold and the team and just enjoy the occasion.

Arnold is sending the wrong message with his World Cup squad

I like Starc but his career really mirrors that of Mitchell Johnson. I think a break and a chance to regroup would do him well. Our batting depth is weak but I think we could find better alternatives in bowling.

McGowan is a joke, he needs to be more accommodating like Gladys. It’s also a massive slap in the face to the ARU who have done so much for rugby in WA.

'Nature of the world we live in': WA Premier casts doubt over Bledisloe 3, rules out TRC hosting

Hopefully Australian cricket can get rid of this bloke for trying to change our culture. Let’s get back to the gold old days of sledging, swearing and cheating. A team we can truly be proud of.

'Incredible job': CA backs Langer as coach faces accusations that he's causing player unrest

Geelong got caught out by a young, fit side playing in hot conditions, pretty foreign to Vic sides. Think they will bounce back and win this match comfortably at home.

Geelong Cats vs Brisbane Lions: AFL Friday night forecast

Good point regarding the fixturing bias. The Eagles seem to always get Brisbane in Qld and Gold Coast at home (12 of the last 16 at the Gabba, with another Gabba game this year). Regardless of ladder position, fixturing quirks like this need adjusting.

The biggest variable for an Eagles performances is weather conditions. Absolute no shows when it’s wet/slippery but world beaters when it’s a dry day game. With 33 degrees forecast I think the Eagles will grind out a tough win.

West Coast versus Gold Coast is turning into a spicy rivalry

Don’t see it as a swipe on Victorians, it just takes out factors like homesickness and the go home factor.
